As the current president of AHRA, I want to personally welcome each of you to the AHRA’s 43rd Annual Meeting here in Las Vegas, a city with over 300+ days of guar-anteed sunshine and even more poker tables, craps tables, and slot machines.

I’m very confident that over the course of the next few days you will experience AHRA’s mission as “the resource and cata-lyst for the development of professional leadership in medical imaging manage-ment.” We take pride in developing our educational programs in congruency with our vision and mission, and thrive on assembling our national meetings with presentations by our peers on current medical imaging challenges that are im-mediately applicable in your own work environment.

Your presence here demonstrates your commitment to staying abreast of the latest challenges and opportunities in medical imaging management by con-tinually furthering your knowledge and implementing best practices in patient care, safety, and the impact that health-care reform is having on medical imaging.

WOW, there is a lot happening here! Today starts off with the 16th Annual Im-aging Classic Golf Tournament at the TPC Las Vegas. I’ll be making appearances at various holes to help promote our Educa-tion Foundation. Also beginning today are our three pre-conference workshops: the CRA Exam Workshop, the Leadership and Mentoring Workshop, and the Lean

Six Sigma Workshop.

Tonight is the New Member and First Time Attendee reception, followed by the President’s Reception where we officially kick everything off. I look forward to wel-coming each and every one of you; please stop by!

Fox’s “Tip o’ the Day”…If you haven’t already done so, download the AHRA Annual Meeting app. This will help you navigate workshops, breakout sessions, and the exhibit hall, and will allow you to customize your own schedule so you don’t miss a session. You can download it at www.ahraonline.org/app.

We have so much to offer this week, including three world class, inspirational keynote speakers, seven action packed exhibitor symposiums, the basic track for new managers, the advanced track for ex-perienced leaders, and my favorite…net-working opportunities galore!

The Exhibit Hall opens tomorrow at 11AM – please be sure to spend time with ex-hibitors during lunch. AHRA enjoys many long standing, productive relationships with corporate partners, and their gen-erosity and support of our educational programs allows us to offer the Annual Meeting at a great value and provide much needed scholarships to some of our members here with us today. Join me in demonstrating our gratitude by visiting their booths.

If this is your first meeting or you have questions, you can get real-time answers from Annual Meeting Design Team Chair Gina Winters and her entire cast. You’ll recognize them by the white tuxedo shirts and red bowties, and you will spot at least one of them at every session and event throughout the week.

This has been a gifted year to serve as your president, and together with a strong AHRA Board of Directors, we have accomplished much. And the AHRA staff is incredible, what a team they are and they accomplish so much in keeping our association running! A special ‘thank-you’ to

both Sarah Murray, for keeping me on point all year, and Kerri Hart-Morris for filling in all the gaps that I leave open in my Link articles. Thank you, my friends, for the oppor-tunity to serve as your president; it has been an honor and the pinnacle of my medical imaging career. I look forward to welcoming you at the President’s Reception this evening!

On behalf of the AHRA and Education Foundation Board of Directors, AHRA staff, Annual Meeting Design Team, and our army of volunteers, I wish you an exciting, stimu-lating, and fun filled week.

Hot Spot companiesDon’t miss your opportunity to win $300 cash! The exhib-iting companies listed below are designated “Hot Spot” booths. You’ll have six chances to win a $300 cash draw-ing by being in the right booth at the right time.
