Controversial Plays / Umpires Decisions Only the manager will be allowed to discuss an umpire’s decision or any play of a controversial nature. The home plate umpire will be informed of the identity of each team’s manager prior to the start of the game. Required Uniform Managers, Coaches and Players shall wear uniforms consistent with Babe Ruth All-Star teams. No coaching shorts, player shorts, ragged shirttails, etc... will be allowed. The commissioner assigned to the tournament will make the final decision on uniforms. All players must have the Babe Ruth patch, which is to be worn on the left sleeve, on the left chest of a vest-type uniform, or on the cap and at least a six-inch number on the back. NO MANAGERS, COACHES OR PLAYERS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE FIELD WITHOUT THE PATCH OR NUMBER ON THEIR UNIFORMS. Catcher’s Gear Catchers are required to wear a mask, helmet and protective cup during warm-ups before and during the game. Also, any other player or coach used to warm up a pitcher either between innings or in the bullpen should wear a helmet and mask. Batting Helmets An approved, double ear flap batting helmet must be worn at bat, when Running the bases, in the on-deck circle, and by any other player that might be coaching at first or third. As well as all bat persons. Equipment Bats, gloves, balls and other equipment must be kept in the dugout, in their proper place, and never on the field. Discarding of any equipment or other items in an unsportsmanlike manner can result in ejection from the game. Authorized Players in dugout and on the Field. Only players, managers, coaches and bat persons will be allowed in each team’s dugout or on the field. The Midwest Regional Tournament is a tourney of STATE CHAMPIONS. As a representative of your state, we plan on your team carrying your flag during the opening ceremony. Please email roster, team pictures and player information to [email protected]. This needs to be turned in by July 15th.

General Tournament Information

Concessions / T-Shirts / Programs A fully-stocked concession stand is located at the field. Tournament T-shirts and programs will be available for purchase. NO OUTSIDE DRINKS, FOODS, ICE CHESTS WILL BE ALLOWED! Safety For the safety of our athletes, coaches, fans, and officials - Great Plains Health & Therapy Center will be on sight for assistance. Admission to Games Tournament Tournament Pass (All games): Adult $25; Student (K-12): $20 One Day Pass: Adult $15; Student (K-12): $10 Ages 5 & Under: Free Umpires The umpires for these games will enforce all rules and regulations covered in the official baseball rulebook and the rules and regulations of Babe Ruth Baseball. Please treat them with respect! Timely Play All efforts should be used to keep the tournament on schedule. Managers and coaches need to keep players moving at all times and avoid unnecessary delays. Pre-game Infield Practice Teams will be given ten (10) minutes of infield practice prior to each game with the visiting team taking infield first. Infield practice should begin immediately after the field maintenance crews have finished their work. Sportsmanship Any player, manager, coach or fan acting in an un-sportsmanlike manner will be removed from the playing field and facilities immediately. These individuals may also be subject to disqualification from the tournament.

Spending Money

Each Player should bring money to possibly purchase a shirt, concession items, souvenirs or any items they might need. Host Team The host team players must abide by the same rules as all other participating teams. Photos and Identification Teams are to send their pictures and player identification to Nikki Barker at [email protected] by July 15th.

Opening Ceremonies All participants must attend the opening ceremonies and be dressed in their game uniforms. Ceremonies will be at 7:30 PM on Thursday, July 27th. All Participants should be at the field by 7:00 PM. Game Time Game lineups MUST BE turned in 1 hour prior to game time. If you do soft toss drills, we request that you bring your own screen, and do not hit into the fences. Team Check-Out Teams eliminated in afternoon play are expected to check out that same day. Teams eliminated in evening play should check out the next morning. Each team should contact the Tournament Director and Tournament Commissioners before leaving. Player Conduct Players conduct must be exemplary at all times, both on and off the field. If you should need any special assistance, please contact your manager. Any misconduct could result in a player being disqualified from the tournament. Tournament Passes Players and coaches will be given passes that will admit them to all games. Be sure to carry these with you at all times. Free admittance will not be allowed without the pass. Tournament Awards Team trophies will be awarded to the first and second place teams. Umpires The Umpires for these games will enforce all rules and regulations covered in the official baseball rulebook and the rules and regulation of Babe Ruth Baseball. Player & Coach Information North Platte Youth Baseball and the City of North Platte are proud to be your hosts for this tournament. We hope you have a fun and enjoyable stay with us. Your cooperation with all the rules and regulations is expected and appreciated. What to Wear As champions / representatives of their state, players are expected to dress neatly at all times. You may, of course, dress casually and comfortably. Keep in mind, you are representing your home community at all times, so you should dress appropriately. Check-In and Check-Out Team check-ins will be at The D & N Event Center on Wednesday, July 26th. We will be checking teams in starting at 2 pm. Practice Fields Practice will not be allowed on Field 1 at any time during the Tournament. The complex has several other fields that can be utilized for team practices. They will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Try to limit practice duration to no more than 1.5 hours. Picnic A picnic for all players, coaches and officials will be at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at The D & N Center. Coaches Meeting / Breakfast A mandatory coaches meeting will be held on Thursday, July 27th starting at 8:30 a.m. The meeting will be held at Another Round at River’s Edge Golf Course, and a breakfast will be served. The purpose of this meeting is to go over ground rules and other tournament regulations.
