BIOGRAPHYArvy K. Nahar has extensive commercial experience in the energy sector developed

working for major Oil & Energy Clients within the City of London and Internationally.

As such she has an in depth understanding of energy markets, contracts and related

commercial negotiations. Strong analytical skills developed through direct

experience in leadership roles, including detailed evaluation and analysis of energy

projects for investment and financial/commercial optimisation. Experienced in

highly sensitive commercial negotiations, and long-term project management of

third party sub-contractors across a wide portfolio of projects.

As a contributing factor to the oil and energy sector, Arvy is critically acclaimed and

currently acting as the group chief editor of the African Leadership Magazine. The

editorial is a basis of African in-country operational exposure, highlighting the

subcontinents energy development sector. In 2020 Arvy joined the Advisory Board of

the UK-Liberia Chamber of Commerce (UKLCC).The advisory role is to promote and

support on all matters such as strategy, policy, and direction of the Chamber.

LOCAL CONTENT FRAMEWORKThe framework of local content development is of paramount significance within the extractives industry. Operational experience of implementing

commercial and contractual steps to improve the local economy by leveraging linkages to extractive projects. The value brought to the local, regional or national economy from an extraction project is governed by in-country legislation.

Beyond the exploration and production scope of work, there is a demand to accelerate hiring local labor and procuring local goods and services from the host country. Each host countries requirement can be implemented on a project-by-project basis through contracts or universally through

national legislation. Countries vary on the level of specificity of local content deliverables, experienced in providing advisory services on the appropriate model including any pre-requisite documentation for pre-bid planning.

The advisory role is to promote and support on all matters influencing strategy, policy and direction of the Chamber. ENTREPRENEURIALISM-GHANAMy Entrepreneurial journey started in 2014, whereby I left London City to operate as a ‘novice’ alluvial miner. Through experiential operational learning, we acquired mining acreage from a local chief in the Obuasi region and started gold mining operations. All pre-requisites licensing to start operations were locally obtained diligently:
