uPVC pipes and fittings

Sewer and drainage pipes and fittings shall bejointed and sealed with with butyl rubber rings

Soil, waste and vent pipes and fittings shall besolvent weld jointed

Copper pipes

Pipes shall be hard drawn and half-hard pipes ofthe class stated. Class O (thin walled harddrawn) pipes shall not be bent. Class 1 (thinwalled half-hard), class 2 (half hard) and class 3 (heavy walled half-hard) pipes shall onlybe bent with inner and outer formers. Capillarysolder fittings shall comply with ISO 2016. Onlycompression shall be used in walls or in ground.

Where fittings have reducing ends or branchesthey are dedscribed as 'reducing'. In the case ofpipes with diameters not exceeding 60mm onlylargest end or branch is given. Should thecontractor wish to use other fittings and brushesor reducers he may do so on the understandingthat no claim in this regard will be entertained. Inthe case of pipes with diameters exceeding60mm all sizes are given and no for extra brushes, reducers etc. will be entertained.

Wire grating

Descriptions of gutters etc. shall be deemed toinclude wire ballon grattings.

Excavations

No claims for rock excavation will be entertainedunless the contractor has timeously notified theEmployer's Agent thereof prior backfilling

'Soft rock' and hard rock shall be defined in'Earthworks'

Laying, backfilling, bedding, etc. of pipes

Pipes shall be laid and bedded and trenchesshall be carefully backfilled in accordance withmanufacturers' instructions.
