INTRODUCTIONINTRODUCTION The typical Purchasing or Facilities

Department is faced on a daily basis with issues involving various types of contracts. For each such contract, the following questions should be asked: (a) what is the authority for entering into the agreement; (b) does the contract contain adequate protections for the district; (c) who will be signing the contract and is that person so authorized; and (d) what procedures, if any, must be complied with before the contract can be approved.
