A History

John Brooks is a privately owned company, started in 1964 in Christchurch as a general engineering manufacturing operation by John and June Brooks.

Major customers were the Meat processing industries of the South and Lower North Island to whom they designed and built slaughter floor and packaging conveyor Systems. In 1970 they shifted to a larger premises and began to sell bearings, chain, sprockets and other Power transmission product lines.

Today this product line has increased substantially to include major agencies for Electric motors, motor speed control and servo systems for robotics. Industrial transmission products are still a main stay of sales, along with design and supply of conveyors and their components.

Pumps and controls for milking machine systems and the Wine industry is now a growing division, with exports to Europe, China and Australia, along with Motion Control products supply and commissioning - ensures John Brooks are prepared for the future.

The company is owned and operated by John’s sons Murray and Chris Brooks. The third generation, Karl Brooks, provides Business Development with a strong focus in bringing new practice and processes to the company.

We can handle that wine gently with the portable variable pump, this utilises the Boden Stainless steel impeller pump with an AC motor and built in variable speed control that has a remote control.
