Dear KS3 students, parents/carers,
We are very excited to launch this KS3 Go Beyond Booklet. It contains tasks that
will encourage students to foster independent learning; to make connections between
the curriculum and the wider world and to increase their cultural capital.
Research undertaken by the Institute of Education suggests children who take part in
enrichment activities outside of normal school hours achieve better grades at school.
Students will be encouraged to complete tasks in this booklet by their teachers and
tutors. The work completed will be showcased in lessons at the end of each half
term and students will receive “Go Beyond” Canons Keys for Success points for the
completion of each task.
We hope you find the tasks in here challenging and enjoyable and suggest that
students should complete a range of tasks across the different subjects and
skills. For you own record keeping, you should tick each task completed.
We are looking forward to seeing some of your amazing talents and skills!
