One should learn the value of prayer, the cause and effect of prayers. Sincere prayers are desires which come from the mind, that part of the mind which is the "Seat of Understanding’’, but often spoken of as "The Heart.” Every desire, thought or wish unuttered or uttered is a prayer; whether exactly formulated into words or not, each desire is still a prayer whether that desire be good for one or to his detriment. Nor does it make any difference as to whether one ex­presses that desire thought to any definite conception of God, Ideal, or Self; it is still a prayer.

The efficacy of prayer to some people, arises from the belief that man lives under general natural laws, which must in all cases be fulfilled unalterably. To others the efficacy of prayer depends upon their personal opinion of their own ability to cope with the expression of idealistic progression or evolution, due to the fact that they believe that each individual is master of his own destiny or predestined phenomena.

In the latter case desires or prayers are not made to any external force, but are made within one’s self, for the abiliy to be master of self, environment, etc., in such a way that it might result in obtaining blessings.

Desires are established within one as n means of obaining blessings from God, by that Infinite Intelligence, for the pur­pose of progression and spiritual evolu­tion and without desires or prayers one becomes a living machine to a state of stagnation, or on a standstill in life.

The subjective effect of prayer is powerful as well as its visible objective efficacy. One should understand the dif­ference between prayer and affirmation. To positively assert, state, or decree a

These friend* are not subject to the demands or control of the mediums wishes any more than that spirit friend wishes to be controlled. One might de­mand certain things of a friend in the flesh, but whether the demands are car­ried out or not is up to the desires of that friend. Thus it is in the spirit world.

These friends of the mediums are called "guides, teachers, controls, etc.” Anyone who asserts they have a guide that is invariably subject to their per­sonal will, belongs to a class of deluded people who do not understand the na­tural laws of attraction and repulsion.

One should weigh the inspirations of the spirit communicating to find its valid­ity. As the Prophets in the Scriptures say, "Test the spirits, to see whether or not they be of God."

In I Corinthians, Chapter 14, verses 32 and 33 we find, "And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints." This means the souls of the Prophets are subject to the will of that prophet, not to the will of others. (Not guides, or familiar spirits.)

2. Cosmic—Pertaining to the Universe,Universal.

3. Manifestation—(A) Webster: "Act of disclosing what

is secret, obscure or unseen; discov­ery to the eye or understanding; The exhibition of anything by clear evidence”;— (Gods power of Mani­festation in the Creation);,

(B) A revelation.

4. Will— (A) Webster: Mind action todo or not to do. The will is directed by the influence of judgment; The operation of the mind, soul and in­telligence of man; Will does not always cooperate with desire; Divine determination, (Implying power to carry purpose into effect.)

5. Faith— (A) Webster: Trust, to be­lieve, to obey. (GREEK: to bind and draw or lead). 1. Belief, to ac­cept truth without distrust. 3. An entire confidence in Gods character, declaration and doctrines with an unreserved surrender of the Will to his guidance. 4. The belief of the Truth of the Gospel, which influ­ences the will and leads to an entire reliance oni Christ for Salvation.

PSYCHIC OR FAITH HEALING

T o heal any sickness, injury or disease by the occult method, one must store up

pranic energy (soul-force) and mentally direct this energy to the affected area, and place the hand or hands on the afflicted area of the body so that a magnetic contact is also made. Remem­ber that pranic energy is omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent— Ever pres* ent, all-wise, and all-powerful, and that mind controls this energy.

Christ said, "Whatsoever thing you desire when you pray, pray believing that you have received it and you will have it.” That is, one must have faith and undem anding accompanying a jprayer or desire, and feel within one’s seif that whatever quality or thing he would like to possess, that he already possesses it. W hen one can do this he is in contact with the D ivine Spirit, the Father whose life essence manifests in all living things. Dynam ic healing force is released when one is in contact with the Divine Spirit through the em otional and soul-stirring faith o f one in the Heavenly Father or Jesus, the living example o f God, who is omniscient, omnipresent, and omni­potent.

T h erer are many healers who heal by contacting what they term cosmic con­sciousness. This is done by sitting in meditation and concentrating upon the contact with universal life. By medita­tion and concentration the mental vibra­tion is elevated to a super-conscious plane and contact is made with the cosmic consciousness and this universal life energy is directed to the afflicted area o f the patient’s mental, spiritual or physical body.

UNIVERSAL PEACE, WAR OR DISARMAMENT

Was not the world created for happi­ness? Did not Jesus, the Master Prophet say, ' 'Peace on earth, good will toward m en?” Was this not an inspiration from God? Shakespeare said, "To thine own self be true, and thou canst not then be false to any man.” To be peaceful is to be in an harmonious vibration of life in which higher immaterial forces of life may contact, vibrate with, and inspire to great achievements, scientific, philo­sophical, and religious.

Many great military leaders of various nations have said, "To have war is to have progression!” If all the money in the world was gained by having a war, would it be enough to compensate for the loss of a single life? No! Have the perpetrators of wholesale murder been brought to justice of the lands? Of what good is progression at the cost o f mur­dering a single life, much less millions of them!

If all the money, efforts and energy that is spent in building war forces and war implements be turned toward schools and educational institutions for building character; educating present and future generations and races of people, there would be no need of thought of war from any point of view. Progression would be many times as great—possibili­ties of world advancement in all affairs would be limitless.

Two of the greatest enemies to man­kind are Fear and Ignorance. War against these qualities of the Satanic in­fluence of man’s ability to create evil and * 'Peace on earth, good will toward man” will be a fact, not a desire or prophecy.

Just what immaterial forces are back of war? We know that everything is first manifest in the unseen, immaterial world before it is manifested in the seen or visible world. The vibrations of cruelty, greed, and selfishness are the causal forces of war by that particular mental force of LIVING CREATIVE MINDS both in the seen and unseen world. They

are creating war by THINKING of greed, selfishness and crime. "As a man thinketh so is he! We might add: As the whole world thinketh, so is it. To eliminate the power or force these minds create, let us teach the ignorant to become wise with spiritual illumina­tion; let us break down the barriers of hate with the sword of love and justice; avoid greed by setting examples of un­selfishness; teach the murderous and cruel minds the Law of Cause and Effect upon themselves.

America needs schools and colleges, not prisons! Instead of a boasting army, navy, and air force and the expenditure thereof, would it not be more useful to the world to make big projects of trans­portation, such as extensive inland waterways, dams for power, more double highways; landing barges in various distances of the oceans for air forces to ftop, refuel, etc., for trans-oceanic transportation, spend the governmental money on scientific projects, building schools, etc., instead of building war forces and expenditures.

By unified, strong creative power of the mind and will of everyone who understands the Law of Faith, can these progressive plans be made manifest. Let us open our consciousness to the vibra- tionsof Hope. For what is the mystery of hope? We hope instinctively. Thus by instinct or intuition (spiritual wis­dom) we become conscious of the fact that Hope is sponsored by a spiritual power in the Unseen realm of life; and therefore, hope of Progression, Happi­ness, etc., is set into motion by the great, unlimited power of God, bringing abour the "proving of things Unseen,” or the manifestation of thought in to the ma­terial universe.

War is Murder! Peace, a universal goal! Disarmament, a milestone on the way of Universal Progression.

RACIAL AND RELIGIOUS PREJUDICE

When Abraham Lincoln became the hero of slave freedom in the United States, he established a great Truth in the consciousness of most of the Amer­ican people and to many of other na-

tions as well, that racial freedom, froml bondage or prejudice was a mystic key that unlocked one of the doorways to Universal Peace.

The Infinite Intelligence never created Racial or Religious prejudice. A mind becoming biased from Truth or prejudg­ing without examination becomes detri­mental to cosmic humanity and should be balanced with an understanding of sympathy toward one another.

Today, very few people have exactly the same understanding of God, but by unhampered development of religious wisdom and religious freedom the world can arrive at a definite ideal of God, for Truth will then be unveiled, and confusion will be history and Universal Harmony will reign on earth. Freedom of thought in religious views will inev­itably lead to the understanding of God within one’s self and the God within others.

A universal motto and work to be established in this age should be, "Physi­cal, mental, and spiritual freedom, re­gardless of color, race or creed."

Racial and religious prejudices are limitations toward the goal of universal peace and the ultimate eternal happiness.

There are no "chosen" people or races of God—a theory that has deluded several races of people, for that would not justify the spiritual evolution of mankind. All races of people will evolve into one great race in the future, a race that will advance by leaps and bounds toward spiritual and scientific progress.

Likewise, there is no chosen form of religion of the Infinite One, but all reli­gions of today will ultimately unite in the understanding of God’s Laws, both spiritual and physical.

This understanding and evolution will be quickened as man abolishes prejudice of races and religions.

Four Principles of Occult Power

Therefore, man needs a knowledge of its nature and pos­sibilities as much to protect him from all of his own adverse concentration and morbid meditation as he does from that of others.”

1. W hat is the symbolic meaning o f "Being born again,” according to Yogi Philosophy?

Ans.: "To be born again” is a biblical term signifying in Occult language a bringing to the outer exprersion of one’s individuality the inner or divine nature of one’s soul. A transformation of the lower self to the higher self. Mental Control is the door through which the phenomena can be opened.

2. Does the power of thought control the emotions?

Ans.: Yes.

3. Do Emotions have the power of producing chemical changes within our physical bodies?

Ans.: Yes, Inspiration, happiness, grief or anger and other emotions have a definite effect upon the cells of our physical bodies brought about by che­mical changes.

4. What is the obj ect of the preceding question?

Ans.: Cultivate your good emotions to give new vitality to the system and break away from the bad moods and emotions that no poisons can be ejected into the blood from the glands that pro­duce chemical changes. Remember mental control governs the moods and

emotions.

5. How can one practice such mental control?

1. What is the symbolic meaning of "Being born again," according to Yogi Philosophy?

Ans.: "To be born again" is a biblical term signifying in Occult language a bringing to the outer exprersion of one’s individuality the inner or divine nature of one’s soul. A transformation of the lower self to the higher self. Mental Control is the door through which the phenomena can be opened.

2. Does the power of thought control the emotions?

Ans.: Yes.

3. Do Emotions have the power of producing chemical changes within our physical bodies?

Ans. s Yes, Inspiration, happiness, grief or anger and other emotions have a definite effect upon the cells of our physical bodies brought about by che­mical changes.

4. What is the object of the preceding question?

Ans.: Cultivate your good emotions to give new vitality to the system and break away from the bad moods and emotions that no poisons can be ejected into the blood from the glands that pro­duce chemical changes. Remember mental control governs the moods and

To be in vibration with limitless power i> to be in tune with Infinity. This may be accomplished doing one’s duty as he sees it, regardless of the destructive opinions of others. Not living a life of extremes, merely following "the middle way”. The result of such living will of a certainty lead to happiness. Look for and recognize the good that is in the hearts of others.

We must learn to know that the ever- conscious realization of the essential one- nets of each life with the Divine Life is the highest of all knowledge, and that to open ourselves as opportune channels for the Divine Power to work in and through us is the open door to the high­est attainment, and to the best there is in life.

Never fear—not even death— Death ii life, the doorway to life. Fear creates confusion— confusion is static that is dis­cordant in the vibrations of Infinity. Fear opens the doorway for ignorance to enter.

Live a life of justice— "Do unto others, as you would have others do unto you.” There are certain universal laws which mankind must comprehend and obey, especially the law of vibration, the laws of attraction and repulsion, and the cause and effect of all thought, word and action.

Turn your faces to the light of wis­dom, not to be blinded by it, but to

perceive that which the light falls on and to understand the origin o f that light in such a way that it will inspire you with faith.

He who has God in his heart will be shown the second step of the spiritual stairway when the first step is taken. Sincerity is a suggested first step. Climb truthfully.

To rely on others is avoiding the per­formance of one’s duty. Independence is personal evolution leading to group pro­gression. Self-reliance is working out one’s individuality.

We should arise when we stumble, for our strength grows out of our weaknesses. Obstacles are blessings in disguise. Life would not be worth living if there were no opposition. The greater the opposi­tion, the greater the glory of the victory will be. Stumblings make one learn of the wisdom and the laws of Infinity.

Within one’s self lies the cause of whatever enters his life. H is happiness depends a great deal upon the ideals of life he has, his ability to cope with the misfortunes that he has previously caused to enter his life and his ability to attune himself to conditions of harmony in present circumstances and surroundings. If one’s life is unhappy, find the cause within and expel it, filling the vacancy with causes of happiness, which must be, of a necessity, uplifting to both self and others.

W hat is this world seeking? Whether it is conscious of it or not, it is seeking freedom from the bondage of self— the self of fear, ignorance and superstition. Some being blindfolded by themselves or others, travel the longest route to that liberation. Others by conscious under­standing of self-searching Infinity, tear the blindfolds from their eyes and the shakles of bondage are broken.

W e build from within and attract from without. It is the law of Evolution. Everything is first creatively visualized in the unseen before it is manifested in the seen. Ideal precedes reality. Spiritual existence of everything precedes’ the phy­sical vibration of the same. The Unseen World is the realm of the Cause, the seen, the realm of effect.

Life should not be moulded by guess­work or chance, but by positive know­ledge, which must be experienced by one’s self or others that its truth might be tested. D on’t speculate— know!

W hen one is weak, he needs will power. Divine will is an Infinite force with which one should become conscious of in moments o f weakness. Look within for that Divine will; it is there.

Everything that is good is Infinite. Since infinity means immeasurable or un­limited we must understand that time, space, intelligence, force, life, matter and love are all Infinite, but with laws of manifestation that govern each, show order, rhythm and understanding. Wis­dom must have a source— if it exists at all— that source is Infinite Intelligence; likewise other existing phenomena and manifestations have their origin in In­finity. The great - central fact of life is oneness with Infinite Life and a mental consciousness o f this fact. To be conscious of this fact is to be able to perceive Truth— that hidden, yet seen existence of Infinity.

Ignorance is darkness; wisdom is illu­mination. In Genesis, we read, "And

darkness m oved upon the face of the waters.” Later, "And G od said, let there be ligh t, a n d there was light,"—mean­ing, ignorance or confusion vibrated in the source of the "Waters of Life”, or the existence of life. And the Infinite God of no beginning or of no ending said, let there be wisdom, and there was wisdom. That wisdom of spiritual illu­mination took on forms of both physical light and darkness, and following this the material universe m anifested law, order and rhythm.

God manifests through man because man is the possessor of God’s qualities of existence—life, matter, intelligence, force and love. Be immeasurable in the manifestation of these qualities of God. Thus will you be in tune with Infinity.

To evolve from out of the darkness into the light is to assist God in his In­finite Plan. Power comes from within through the power of the mind and the operation of thought. Power of will transcends the physical consciousness to spiritual consciousness. This is guided by the voice of the silence, or the voice of the soul—what is this voice of the soul?:—Spiritual consciousness or God! Listen and obey. Don’t close your mental ear when this voice speaks.

The more sympathetic, mentally and spiritually sensitive we are, the easier we contact the harmonial wave length of In­finite Intelligence. To be sensitive is to be perceptive. Live so as to increase this

perception. Do not desire one thing and expect another. For a "house divided against itself cannot stand.” Understand your desires, th en pray and expect that desire to manifest, and it shall be done. Doubt and fear are the weapons of ignorance, be positive and war against this "Evil of darkness.”

Heaven or Eternal Bliss is a palace with many doors and each one may enter his own way, as he chooses. This makes life more interesting. Look into your heart and mind and be true to the urges of your soul. This will keep you from swerving from the path that leads to one of the doors of the palace of God. This can be termed universal truth, for noth­ing is worthy of the namo of Truth if it is not universal.

The secret of all evolution and success is to unite the outer means of expression with the power within, the celestial dynamo—vibrating with Infinity. To ex­change weakness and impotency for strength and courage; sorrow for joy; fears for faith; is to come into the soul realization of peace, power and plenty— This is to be in tune with Infinity.
