MixMag Contents page analysis

The contents page of MixMag is very good because it is all nice and neatly laded out which makes it very easy for the reader to read, for example the way that all the articles are in on column on the right hand of the page.

As you can see the main image is just off a group of people at a party having a good time which will apple to the target audience and make them feel like it more of their sort of magazine because it’s the same sort of this they would do.

MixMag have put in one of their regulars which they put in every magazine which is at the bottom of the page they have put in about there free CD they usually give away and what tracks are on it and what number they are, they also write a little bit about what the mix is about and give you a brief summary. Then they have all of their features in the column which is good because it means then you do not get confused on what the features are and what the regulars are because of the layout.

They have kept to the usually house style which is all nice and neat and nothing seems to be out of place and everything is in line and not all over the place. They also have got an identifier n the masthead which the whole name of the magazine but is smaller font and size so it fits perfectly in the left thrid.

NME contents page analysis

I like the way that the contents page is put together in NME because again it is very neat and does not have a lot going because it all in boxes and everything is in line with something else which makes it very easy to read and its not hard to find things your looking for.

The main image is about what is big at the time and its what most people are going to interested in and it can drag peoples attention to it, and not just a pointless image. This is going to get you more sales because more people what to know what is going on in the music industry, so they can speak to their friends about it.

They have put all the regulars in one place which is called ‘plus’ and this is good because it means that everyone can just see what is there and not have to go looking right through the whole magazine, where as all the features are the main bit where everything and where most people will just look and not be bothered to look anywhere else.

Not only do they have the features and also the regulars in on this front cover they also have a little offer to help you save money or at lets help you get their magazine for a cheaper price and make it more likely that your going to keep buying NME and not just buy it every now and then.

Kerrang contents page analysis

The contents page not as neat as the others but that’s because its not that sort of magazine it more about the music and not the design of the magazine, but I still thinks it neat and easy to read but not as neat as MixMag, and its easy to read.

The main image is an image of ‘Slash’ and this is good because then you understand that the main article is going to be about slash and he is the main topic is this weeks episode of the magazine, and that its what majority of people want to know about.

The contents page of Kerrang is good because they have put their main article on the top half of the page and then put a mixture of both features and regulars on the bottom half of the page which is good because it means that you can find it all in one place and not get all confused on what a feature and what a regular is which, and they also put in a little bit about the magazine that week and what the people want and also how it has related to that.

They have also kept to the house style of the magazine which not for everything to be perfect and for it all to be a messy and also that the main colours are Black/Yellow and Red. This is through out all of there magazines and also through out this magaizne.
