Consuming the “indie pop” genre

HOW?

There are many different ways to consume music, the most common ways for our chosen

genre would be on the radio, on iTunes, on websites such as YouTube and Soundcloud, it

could be consumed live at gigs and it could also be consumed on music channels, however this might not be as common for our chosen genre,

as music channels tend to feature more mainstream, pop music.

When?This was something that required us asking people that fit into our target audience, as

when people consume music can differ greatly depending on the person, and the

genre of music. Most people said that they liked listening to indie pop music when they

were getting ready to go out, as it helped increase their mood, and they also liked

listening to it in their car whilst driving. They said they wouldn’t tend to listen to this sort

of music if they were doing work as it can distract them and does not improve their

concentration.

Where?This again required us to ask our target

audience, as it can differ greatly. After getting their feedback it seems the main places that

they consume our chosen genre of music are in the car, at parties, at friends houses, at gigs and some people also said at the gym, as it can be

quite motivating.
