    Consultation ReadingsSession 3

12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

12:14 For the body is not one member, but many.

12:15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not ofthe body? 12:16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is ittherefore not of the body? 12:17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If thewhole were hearing, where were the smelling? 12:18 But now hath God set the members everyone of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

12:19 And if they were all one member, where were the body? 12:20 But now are they many

    members, yet but one body.

12:21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to thefeet, I have no need of you.

12:22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, arenecessary: 12:23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, uponthese we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundantcomeliness.

12:24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, havinggiven more abundant honour to that part which lacked.

12:25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the samecare one for another.

12:26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member behonoured, all the members rejoice with it.

12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

12:28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdlyteachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

12:29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? 12:30Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? 12:31 But covetearnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

    (King James Bible, 1 Corinthians)

6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in thespirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

6:3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

6:4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and

    not in another.

6:5 For every man shall bear his own burden.

6:6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.

6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to theSpirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

    Galatians

6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, andhast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

    1 Timothy

3:8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful,be courteous: 3:9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing;knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

3:10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lipsthat they speak no guile: 3:11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensueit.

3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers:but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

    (King James Bible, 1 Peter)

5:1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of thesufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: 5:2 Feed the flock ofGod which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not forfilthy lucre, but of a ready mind; 5:3 Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but beingensamples to the flock.
