I began by creating a ‘Color Matte’ layer in

the colour black.

I then duplicated this to create both of the

‘eyelids’.

The result of this can be observed in the top right corner of the image box.

I cropped both of the colour mattes using the crop tool to allow for a gap. This acts as what

the ‘eye’ can see.

I rotated one of the colour matte layers 180

degrees to act as the bottom eyelid.

Next, I used an ‘Edge Feather’ effect upon each of the colour mattes to slightly feather the top and bottom of the eyelids to make

the effect seem much more realistic.

The result of this can be observed in the bottom image of the image box.

Finally, I moved the effect onto the desired location for the effect to occur in the

timeline of the music video.

Next, I began to animate both of the

feathered colour matte layers.

To do this, I had to alter the position of each

layer, I therefore unlocked the option to

do this which can be found here…

I then began to alter the position of the colour matte

layers that can be seen in each frame. To do this I created key frames which correlate to the location of the mattes at that

particular instance.
