Orion (The Hunter)
• Orion is one of the oldest and best known constellations
• One of the easiest to see in the night sky • Orion is the legendary great hunter from the
Greek• The gods sent Scorpius, to sting Orion's foot,
and kill him because he was annoying them because of his bragging
Sagittarius (The Archer)
• Was an Archer• Half Human, Half Horse• He changed himself into a horse to escape his
jealous wife, Rhea• This Constellation is made up by 1• He was the son of Saturn and Plyilyra and is
said to have changed himself into a horse to escape his jealous wife, Rhea.2 Stars
Cassiopeia (The Queen)
• Consists of 5 Stars • Queen of Ethiopia• Wife of the King Cepheus• Cassiopeia was later put into the sky to sit on
her throne• Cassiopeia was also seen by the Arabs, they
thought it was a hand or a kneeling camel• The Eskimos called it the stone lamp
Cancer (The Crab)
• Consists of 5 Stars • The Chaldeans thought of Cancer • They felt that a crab, which walks backwards• The little crab bit Hercules' toes and was
crushed in the end
Taurus (The Bull)
• Taurus is one of the ancient constellations• Many cultures saw this constellation as a bull,
like the Greek • Taurus was not always a bull, he was a human
with shape shifting powers
