• Early entrants in the O&G upstream space, 2000’s era, have made tremendous inroads in data management and data analytics

- Examples are Pioneer, Anadarko, Devon, and many majors

• The competitive advantage is huge, and there is still much work ahead

• There are 4 main prioritized issues: SCADA efficiencies/cost reductions, safety/well control, environmental concerns, SCADA security

• Wired is always better, but comes at a cost, and may not be practical
