They have revealed that eating an unbalanced diet causes a list of serious diseases. The most common health problem associated with an unbalanced diet is obesity. According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, every third person suffers from obesity in the United States. Furthermore, obesity is an important risk factor for osteoarthritis , high blood pressure, high level of cholesterol and even cancer.

Lack of vitamins, high level of fat, cholesterol and sugar may increase the risk of both heart attack and stroke. The nutritionists claim that eating plenty of fruit, vegetables and low-fat meat in combination with regular exercises can help prevent and treat many cardiovascular problems.In addition to obesity and cardiovascular problems, another potential risk of unbalanced diet is diabetes. According to research published in 1989 in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, the risk of this particular disease is often related to both the degree and duration of obesity. But there should be mentioned the causes of unbalanced diet, as this knowledge can, at least, decrease the risk. Crazy timetable is the most obvious reason of unbalanced diet. On the other hand, it goes without saying that junk food causes addiction.The first cause of unbalanced diet is the fact that people who are always in a hurry forget about normal food and often use fast-food service. They spend less time for meals, although it is more harmful for the humans organism. Plenty of busy people have experienced not only take-away lunch, but also late night cravings, for they work almost all the time.Another cause of unbalanced diet may be addiction to junk food. According to recent research, scientists have confirmed that certain foods can create a vicious cycle of dependence. It is obvious that the body requires that unbalanced diet because of not only its flavour, smell and shape, but also chemical ingredients. To sum up, consequences of eating an unbalanced diet are fatal. This unbalanced diet may be caused by either inconvenient schedule or temptation to eat such delicious, but harmful food. Therefore, people should be aware of all the effects of this unhealthy lifestyle and change it in order to save their life.
