Many big time corporations and growing corporations outsource. These corporations include:

-IBM-Infosys Technologies-Unisys-AppLabs-Walmart-Sofftek-Microsoft-Oracle

-Cisco-Hewlett Packard-Prudential-Dell Computer Support-General Electric-AT&T Wireless-Neusoft

Companies outsource for many different reasons. Some of them we even mentioned in class. They include:

-To cut costs on employee wages-To gain access to IT resources unavailable internally-To speed up project production-To gain access to skillful workers-To gain access to raw materials-To improve customer focus-To free up internal resources (not have to rely on just resources internally)

Outsourcing impacts everyone in many different ways. -It impacts companies because it gives them more money from cost savings or it may hurt the company in some way.

-Outsourcing impacts us by putting family and friends out of work because they are laid off due to outsourcing.

-Both the unemployment and companies then impact the U.S. by increasing the unemployment rate and having money made from outsourcing trafficked back to the U.S.

-Lastly, the unemployment rate increase travels back to all the citizens in America because a high unemployment rate means higher taxes since the unemployed are, for a time, supported by the government.

-All in all, outsourcing will eventually travel all the way to you, directly or indirectly.

Outsourcing is related to globalization in that it connects the world. Just like globalization, outsourcing has put people and products in new places and has spread different cultures around the world. Because of outsourcing we now connect with Indian people whenever we call the Dell Support Center. And because of outsourcing, China know what McDonalds is. Outsourcing is connecting people in all sorts of ways just as globalization has connected people through trade..

Companies can reduce and control costs (mostly through cheaper employee wages)- Companies can gain, once unavailable, IT resources- Companies can free up internal resources- Companies can improve business or customer focus- Companies can speed up a project- Companies can gain, once unavailable, native resource- Companies can gain, once unavailable, native skillful workers- Companies can traffic profits back to the home country- Companies may strengthen other countries economy- Money may be gained in the monetary exchange rate of other countries
