Student Wellness and Prevention Framework:

Ensuring ALL Students Know When and Where to Get Help!

Safe2Tell and Text-a-Tip are forms of anonymous reporting that we encourage our students to use to help themselves or their friends through difficult times. If a student does not feel comfortable approaching a trusted adult with an issue, they can use these resources to report the problem. Concerns that can be reported to Safe2Tell or Text-a-Tip can include bullying, cyberbullying, substance misuse, self-harm, threats, violence, suicide concerns, or any unsafe situations. RVMS students will review resources such as Safe2Tell and Text-A-Tip which are available 24/7 so that they always have an anonymous way to report concerns.

To set the tone for a safe and healthy school year, we will be implementing the Student Wellness & Prevention Framework this year. Ranch View values the safety and well-being of each student. In fact, we know before we can create an environment conducive to learning, our students must feel safe, secure and supported. Each month our school staff will focus on a new topic and/or set of skills. This month we are introducing the purpose of the Student Wellness & Prevention Framework and Anonymous Reporting to our students. We are ensuring that students and parents have access to a wide range of supports and resources in the community. These resources are the first step in teaching students “when they need help and where to get help” and how to anonymously report should they see or hear something that might jeopardize a student’s individual safety or the safety of others. We hope to build our students’ toolbox so they can easily recognize when they or a friend need help and they know just where to go to get the help they seek.

Anonymous Reporting: Safe2Tell & Text-A-Tip

Ranch View Middle School Theatre Presents: Hoodie and Box - Two One Act Plays by Lindsay September 27 at 7pm and September 28 at 3:30pm and 7pm

Hoodie by Lindsay Price Middle schoolers face a tornado of questions every day. What do I wear? What if I wear the wrong thing? What is she wearing? What do I look like? Stop looking at me! Hoodie examines image and appearance in the vignette style and poses what may be the most difficult question of all – Do I stay in the clump or do I stand alone?

Box by Lindsay Price Sometimes we choose the way the world sees us. Black box - indestructible. Jewelry box - plain on the outside, shiny on the inside. Sometimes our box is defined by others - our parents, our friends, our enemies. A box built by others can feel small, confined, impossible. How do we handle the boxes imposed upon us because of our gender? Our race? From peer pressure? From parent pressure? Do we have to live with our box for the rest of our lives? Can we change?
