SURFACE NET / SURFACE WEB
The Surface Web (also called the VisibleWeb, Clearnet, Indexed Web, IndexableWeb or Lightnet,) is that portion of theWorld Wide Web that is readily available tothe general public and searchable withstandard web search engines. It is theopposite of the deep web.
DEEPNET
Vast repository of information notaccessible to standard search engines.Content found in websites / databases /and other sources. Often only accessiblethrough a custom query directed atindividual websites.

HOW IS THE DEEP WEB DIFFERENT FROM THE SURFACE WEB?
The Surface Web contains only a fraction of the content available on-line.Standard search engines simply cannot find or retrieve content in theDeep Web.
Why? Because many of the Deep Web sourcesrequire a direct query to access a database, andstandard search engines aren’t built to do that.
Thus, to be discovered, “surface” Web pages must be static and linked toother pages. Traditional search engines often cannot “see” or retrievecontent in the Deep Web, which includes dynamic content retrieved froma database.
DARKNET
• darknet
• ˈdɑkːnɛt/
• nounComputing
• noun: darknet; plural noun: darknets
a computer network with restricted access that is used chiefly for illegal peer-to-peer file sharing.
THE REAL DEFINITION OF THE DARKNET?
a place lurking beneath the Internet you use every day. It’s a hidden underbelly, home to both rogues andpolitical activists, and accessed only with the help ofspecially designed anonymizing software.
It’s a secretive place, where Arab Spring dissidents can hide their digital tracks, a place where whistleblowers can reach out safely to scoop-seeking media outlets. And, yes, it’s also a dangerous place, where a lot of illicit, underground nastiness occurs.
WHAT YOU NEED TO CONJURE THE DARKNET
1.INQUISITIVE ATTITUDE / DARING / OPEN MINDED
2.MUST HAVE A COMPUTER / MOBILE / TABLET
3.MUST HAVE ANTIVIRUS / FIREWALL / STABLE NETWORK
4.DOWNLOAD TOR BROWSER
5.USE A VPN FOR ADDED ANONYMITY (OPTIONAL)
6.SURF THE DARKNET VIA SEARCH ENGINES
THE TOR NETWORK
TOR is an acronym which stands for ‘The OnionRouter’. It got that name because of the manylayers you would have to peel back to find the realidentity of any of its users.
You cannot be tracked, this is how to stay anonymous when surfing the Darknet
NAVIGATING THROUGH THE DARKNET
One of the main resources for navigatingthrough websites on the Darknet isthrough directories.

CURRENCY OF THE DARKNET
Bitcoin is the only currency you can pay with there. Unlike the “normal” web almost every other website has the
“Bitcoin accepted” sign displayed on it. Because of Bitcoin’s pseudo-anonymous
nature, it’s the perfect currency to power such an ecosystem.
ADDITIONAL SECURITY – USING VPN
Using a VPN allows you to connect to theInternet through a remote server which islocated out of the country and therefore isimpossible to be tracked.
Lots of free VPN out there to use
A TASTE OF THE DARKNET
I can categorize my experience as a mix between good and evil. The good part of it was surfing around websites which were all about freedom of speech, exchanging of ideas and grouping people together for common cause. Here’s an example of a quote from a website
called Alpha-7-Bravo (http://opnju4nyz7wbypme.onion):
Knowingly & Intentionally
Ignorance & Complete negligence
Curiosity
This Affects
Home
Businesses & Offices
Institutions & Organization
DO YOU STILL WANT TO ACCESS THE DARKNET?
ARE YOU STILL CURIOUS ON WHAT THE DARKNET HAS TO OFFER? THEN TIGHTEN YOUR BELTS WITH THE FOLLOWING
STEPS
HOW TO STAY SAFE ON DARKNET OR DEEPNET?
•Use TOR for anonymity (That’s a must);•Use a VPN• Think twice before you click any link from directory dumps as the links may or may not be what they are categorized as. The safest DarkNet directory is the TOR Library so it is better to start from there.
•
HOW TO STAY SAFE ON DARKNET OR DEEPNET?
DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANYTHING TO YOUR COMPUTER.
No BitTorrents and no downloads as they may give away your actual IP when storing things to your computer. That could spell
trouble.
BLESSING IF
Hosted blogs in countries where theexchange of ideas is frowned upon; andserved as mirrors for websites thatattract governmental or corporateangst, such as GlobalLeaks, Indymedia, and Wikileaks.
BLESSING IF
It could be journalists who want to workwithout the possibility of getting jailed forspeaking truth, or it could be peopleselling banned drugs and weed. There arewhistle-blowers who let out informationwithout the fear of getting caught
