Dear Friends,

We have all entered 5778, inspired, educated, and motivated from our deeply meaningful high holiday worship. The new Machzorim are phenomenal, I especially enjoyed the blue and grey commentary and meditation sections. A huge thank you to all that donated to the High Holiday prayer books, enabling our CBI community to pray and learn in a more updated and inclusive manner.

October is an exciting month that continues with fun Sukkot and Simchat Torah celebrations. Men’s group, Kol Isha, and Youth group also have many events planned. Please check your weekly snapshot and social media for the programming dates and times.

As I mentioned during my Rosh Hashanah address, CBI means engagement, value, fulfillment, and relationships with G-d, Torah, and Israel. I urge you to get involved, make connections, and cultivate relationships. I am certain the more engagement and connection you make at CBI, the more you will receive. Whether you create a new friendship, become more Jewishly literate or anywhere in-between, it will be a fulfilling choice. CBI is the family you choose.

CBI is launching a series of specialty Friday night Shabbat services sprinkled throughout the year. These specialty Shabbatot will honor various segments of our CBI community. The first of these specialty Shabbat services will be Friday, October 27, honoring those members that have been part of our CBI family for 25 years or more. If you have been a CBI member for 25 or more years, please attend this Shabbat services. Invite your family and friends, Rabbi Kahn will offer a special blessing for you.

There’s so much going on at CBI, I look forward to sharing these shul experiences with you, my CBI family.

L’Shalom,

Jacki Cohen Board of Directors, President
