Have you tried to include elements that you know your audience would

enjoy?

The dialogue between my characters is typical teen dialogue and conversations that will be relatable to my audience.

The blood and mild gore seen in my in my opening will attract my target audience of young males as they have a sense of the film from the outset.

Having a female character die first shows the females vulnerability and how women are the weaker sex and need to be rescued.

Keeping my villain a mystery will excite my audience and keep them intrigued only showing parts of my killer.

Have you attempted to create excitement, tension, conflict or a

mystery in your opening?

I used music to build tension in my opening. It was an important element that ensured the intended atmosphere was brought across in my opening.

My opening ended on a cliffhanger exciting my audience in terms of what's coming next.

Chase sequences are typically a feature in horror films that are exciting and help to build adrenaline. These sequences have a predator vs prey element that would excite the audience, especially young males who would find pleasure out of these sequences.
