CONFLUENCE - AFGJI JAMBOREE (2018-19) Confluence - AFGJI Jamboree was held in Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute, Subroto Park on 3 rd and 4 th May 2018. This was the fifth Confluence, which is an annual interschool event. Around 26 schools participated in it and there was an overwhelming response from over 640 participants from Delhi and NCR. The Chief Guest on 3rd May was Mr DC Dey (Retd) Additional Director General CRPF, who graciously awarded prizes to all the winners of various events along with the School Principal, Mrs Poonam S Rampal. After the Welcome address and Invocation dance, the Principal addressed the gathering. The Guest of Honour was Dr Veena Dutta, Campus Director, Pearl Academy, Delhi and NOIDA campuses. All the guests inaugurated the programme by floating candles. Eminent guests from the Indus Quality Foundation and Pearl Academy also attended the programme. Under the aegis of IQF, English Oration, Heritage Symposium and Hindi “Vimarsh” were held and organised by the English, Social Sciences and Hindi Departments respectively. The Commerce events- Travelling in Mars and Design and Ad campaign were supported by Pearl Academy and conducted by the Commerce Department. The Eco Club events- Poster Making, Model Creation, Eco Quiz and Design-a-Bag were supported by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and conducted by the Biology Department in association with the Fine Arts and Home Science Departments. The Chem Modelathon was organised by the Chemistry department and the events, A-Symmetrical and Sudoku were organised by the Mathematics department. The Primary Wing conducted the Duet Dance – ‘Let’s Do It’. The Zenith events were organised by the Futurz Club (Computer Science Department). Competitions like Surprise Event, UnNatural Selection, Camcorder, Brochodesign, Techie Talkie, Turtle Art and Code X_X were held. The Special students participated in Typomaster – Junior Category (6-12 years) and Power Wizard – Senior Category (12-18 years). The events

during Confluence were open to the students of the Special, Primary

and the Senior Wings of all the schools.

During the Closing Ceremony, which was held on 4th May, the

distinguished Chief Guest was Air Commodore M Mohanta, Principal

Director, Schools Adventure and Sports and Chairman Managing

Committee, Air Force Schools. He gave away awards to all the prize

winners in the presence of the School Principal, Mrs Poonam S

Rampal and the School’s Executive Director Wing Commander DK

Kaushik. The two-day event gave an opportunity to all the

participants to showcase their literary, scientific, aesthetic,

mathematical, business and social skills. In his address, Air

Commodore M Mohanta congratulated all the participants and the

winners for making the event a grand success. He also encouraged the

students to explore their fullest potential, set new benchmarks and

scale greater heights in future. In all, the participants took home

around 80 prizes. The Eco Club trophy was won by Venkateshwar

International School, the Commerce trophy was also bagged by

Venkateshwar School and the proud winners of the Zenith Cup were

the students of Sanskriti School. The event ended with the Vote of

Thanks and rendition of the National Anthem by the school choir

‘Ekyataan’.
