1-1 Configuring SATA Controllers
A. Installing SATA hard drive(s) in your computerInstall the hard drives/SSDs in theSATA/M.2 connectors on themotherboard.Then connect the powerconnectorsfromyourpowersupplytotheharddrives.

TheBIOSSetupmenusdescribedinthissectionmaydifferfromtheexactsettingsforyourmotherboard.TheactualBIOSSetupmenuoptionsyouwillseeshalldependonthemotherboardyouhaveandtheBIOSversion.
B. Configuring SATA controller mode in BIOS SetupMakesuretoconfiguretheSATAcontrollermodecorrectlyinsystemBIOSSetup.Step:Turnonyourcomputerandpress<Delete>toenterBIOSSetupduringthePOST(Power-OnSelf-Test).UnderSettings\IO Ports, setSATA Configuration\SATA ModetoRAID(Figure1).Thensavethesettingsandrestartyourcomputer.(IfyouwanttouseNVMePCIeSSDstoconfigureRAID,makesuretosetNVMe RAID modetoEnabled. Then set how the bandwidth of the PCIe slot you use is divided. Save the changes and exit BIOS Setup. )
C. UEFI RAID ConfigurationStep1:InBIOSSetup,gotoBoot andsetCSM SupporttoDisabled(Figure2).SavethechangesandexitBIOSSetup.

Step2:Afterthesystemreboot,enterBIOSSetupagain.ThenentertheSettings\IO Ports\RAIDXpert2 Configuration Utility sub-menu(Figure3).
Step3:OntheRAIDXpert2ConfigurationUtilityscreen,press<Enter>onArray Management toenter theCreate Arrayscreen.Then,selectaRAIDlevel(Figure4).RAIDlevelssupportedincludeRAID0,RAID1,andRAID10(theselectionsavailabledependonthenumberoftheharddrivesbeinginstalled).Next,press<Enter>onSelect Physical DiskstoentertheSelect Physical Disksscreen.

Step4:OntheSelect Physical Disksscreen,selecttheharddrivestobeincludedintheRAIDarrayandsetthemtoEnabled.Next,usethedownarrowkeytomovetoApply Changesandpress<Enter>(Figure5).ThenreturntothepreviousscreenandsettheArray Size,Array Size Unit,Read Cache PolicyandWrite Cache Policy.
Step5:Aftersettingthecapacity,movetoCreate Arrayandpress<Enter>tobegin.(Figure6)

Aftercompleting,you'llbebroughtbacktotheArray Managementscreen.UnderManage Array Properties youcanseethenewRAIDvolumeandinformationonRAIDlevel,arrayname,arraycapacity,etc.(Figure7)
Delete RAID VolumeTo delete aRAID array, select the array to be deleted on theRAIDXpert2 Configuration Utility\Array Management\Delete Array screen.Press<Enter>onDelete Array to enter theDelete screen.Then setConfirm toEnabledandpress<Enter>onYes(Figure8).

1-2 Installing the SATA RAID/AHCI Driver and Operating SystemWiththecorrectBIOSsettings,youarereadytoinstalltheoperatingsystem.
A. Installing Windows AssomeoperatingsystemsalreadyincludeSATARAID/AHCIdriver,youdonotneedtoinstallseparateRAID/AHCIdriverduringtheWindowsinstallationprocess.Aftertheoperatingsystemisinstalled,werecommendthatyouinstallallrequireddriversfromthemotherboarddriverdiskusing"XpressInstall"toensuresystemperformanceandcompatibility.IftheoperatingsystemtobeinstalledrequiresthatyouprovideadditionalSATARAID/AHCIdriverduringtheOSinstallationprocess,pleaserefertothestepsbelow:
Step1:CopytheHw10 folderunderthe\BootDrvfolderinthedriverdisktoyourUSBthumbdrive.
Step2:BootfromtheWindowssetupdiskandperformstandardOSinstallationsteps.Whenthescreenrequestingyoutoloadthedriverappears,selectBrowse.
Step3:InserttheUSBthumbdriveandthenbrowsetothelocationofthedriver.Thelocationofthedriverisasfollows:Windows64-bit:\Hw10\RAID\x64
Step4:WhenascreenasshowninFigure1appears,selectAMD-RAID Bottom DevicefirstandclickNexttoloadthedriver.ThenselectAMD-RAID ControllerandclickNexttoloadthedriver.Finally,continuetheOSinstallation.

B. Rebuilding an ArrayRebuildingistheprocessofrestoringdatatoaharddrivefromotherdrivesinthearray.Rebuildingappliesonlytofault-tolerantarrayssuchasRAID1andRAID10arrays.Toreplacetheolddrive,makesuretouseanewdriveofequalorgreatercapacity.TheproceduresbelowassumeanewdriveisaddedtoreplaceafaileddrivetorebuildaRAID1array.
Whileintheoperatingsystem,makesuretheChipsetandRAIDdrivershavebeeninstalledfromthemotherboarddriverdisk.Thendouble-clicktheRAIDXpert2icononthedesktoptolaunchtheRAIDutility.
Step1:EntertheloginIDandpassword(default:"admin"),andthenclickSubmittolaunchAMD RAIDXpert2.
Step2:In theDisk Devices section, left-clickyourmousetwiceonthenewly-addedharddrive.
Step3:Onthenextscreen,selectAssign as Global Spare andclickConfirm.
Step4:Duringtherebuildprocess,youcanselectthearraythat is being built (displayed in red) in theActive Volumessectiontocheckthecurrentprogress.
Step5:Then rebuild is complete when theTask State columnshows"COMPLETED."
