CONFERENCE & WORKSHOP ON “CURRENT CONCEPTS IN LASERS”
Continuing ahead in their stride to provide the best in the field for betterment of patient’s
treatment and advance education of the doctors and students, the pioneers in dental health
and education, I.T.S Dental College, Greater Noida, for the first time in NCR region, organized
one of its kind of conference and workshop titled “ Chasing LASERS - Current Concepts”
wherein eminent clinicians and speakers Dr. Sachin Katwe ( Pune), Dr. Rohit Kochhar and Dr.
Sachit Anand Arora introduced the advanced techniques and bright future of Lasers in dentistry
to a live audience of 150 doctors and PG students from various dental fields and specialities.
The chief guest for the occasion was Padmashree Dr. Siddharth Mehta, who is an eminent
dental surgeon of New Delhi and has served the country both nationally and internationally.
The inaugural function was graced by Hon. Chairman of I.T.S. – The Education Group, Dr. R P
Chadha, Director of PG Studies, Dr. Anmol Kalha and Principal Dr. Puneet Ahuja.

WORKSHOP AND TREATMENT CAMP ON CLEFT LIP AND PALATE
The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, I.T.S. Dental College,
Greater Noida, in collaboration with Operation Smile India conducted a workshop
cum treatment camp for Cleft lip and palate patients on 26th February 2015.
This extensive camp was done by faculty and post graduates of Department
of Oral Surgery headed by Dr. G K Thapliyal, Department of Orthodontics headed
by Dr. Anil Chandna and Department of Pedodontics headed by Dr. Mousumi
Goswami. Multiple patients suffering from cleft lip and palate were screened and
diagnosed following which required corrective surgeries were performed and
obturators were also fabricated for their rehabilitation.

WORKSHOP ON BASIC LIFE SUPPORT
An American Heart Association certified basic life support workshop was organized by the
Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of I.T.S Dental College, Greater Noida, in
association with Phoenix Institute of CPR and Defibrillation. On 17th and 18th October 2016.
The program commenced with an address to the gathering by Dr Anmol Kalha, Director, PG
Studies. He elucidated the importance of basic life support in the field of line of a dental
professional. The course faculty included Dr. Rajesh Khanna, Ms. Laxmi, , Ms. Sneha Sharma,
Ms Anshu Garg, Ms. Hemlata Sharma.
The first session was presided over by Dr. Rajesh Khanna which comprised of General Concepts
and BLS for Adults. The second session consisted of the following points:Team Dynamics, BLS
for Implants and children above 8yrs, For children less than 8yrs, Ventilator Techniques

SEMINAR ON UPDATES ON ORTHOGNATHIC SURGERY AND
MANAGEMENT OF TMJ DISORDERS
The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at I.T.S Dental College, Greater Noida
organized a workshop On Orthognathic Surgery and management of TMJ Disorders on 19th
May 2016.
The programme commenced with Dr. Anmol Kalha, Director PG Studies giving the
inaugural lecture and introducing the speakers. The event was graced by Dr. Puneet Ahuja,
Principal, Dr. G K Thapliyal, Professor & Head, Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and
heads of various medical and dental departments.
The first speaker of the event was Dr. Daya Shankar Rao, Professor & Head, Department
of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, SGT University. Dr. Daya Shankar explained in detail the
concepts, methods, procedures of Orthognathic Surgery, its indications and scope in oral
surgical procedures.
The second speaker was Dr. Manoj Goel, Professor & Head, Department of Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgery, Santosh University. He spoke about the types of TMJ Disorders and the
various nonsurgical and surgical methods to manage them. The programme concluded with
felicitation of speakers by Dr. Kalha and vote of thanks by Dr. Gurjap Singh, Reader, Department
of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

1st NATIONAL WORKSHOP ON ADULT ORTHODONTICS:
ACCELERATION AND AESTHETICS
The Department of Orthodontics, I.T.S. Dental College, Greater Noida in
collaboration with Indian Orthodontic Society organized a two day workshop and
demonstration on Adult Orthodontics on 1st and 2nd April 2016. The speakers for
the event were Dr. Anmol Kalha, Director, PG Studies, I.T.S Dental College,
greater Noida, Prof. Dr. N. R. Krishnaswamy, Vice Principal, Head, Dept of
Orthodontics, Ragas Dental College, Chennai, Prof. Dr. Anil Chandna, Vice
Principal, Head, Dept of Orthodontics, ITS Dental College, Prof. Dr. Pravin S.
Shetty, Director Vasantdada Patil Dental College & Hospital and Prof. Dr. Achint
Garg, Head, Department of Oral Medicine, ITS Dental College.
The programme was a huge success with lectures on case planning, 3 D assessment
and diagnosis, role of lasers, digital lingual orthodontics. The programme was
attended by 48 participants.

WORKSHOP/ HANDS-ON ON ADVANCED IMPLANTOLOGY, DIRECT
SINUS LIFT/ HARD AND SOFT TISSUE MANAGEMENT
I.T.S Dental College, Greater Noida organized a Hands-on workshop on Advanced
Implantology, Direct Sinus Lift, Hard and Soft Tissue Management in collaboration with
Dentium Implants on 24th January 2017.
The course faculty for the workshop were Dr. Tushar Chawla, an eminent Implantologist
from Bangalore, Dr. Amit Jayna, Prof & Head, Dept. Of Prosthodontics and Dr. Maj. Gen. G K
Thapliyal, Prof & Head, Dept of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
The program commenced with a formal inauguration followed by key note lectures on
how to place implants in bone deficient sites in posterior maxilla, current clinical strategies in
performing sinus floor elevation and bone augmentation. Post lunch the hands-on workshop
was conducted in which the participants placed implants individually in freshly harvested goat
jaws.

WORKSHOP ON CBCT NAVIGATED DENTISTRY IN IMPLANTOLOGY
AND ENDODONTICS
I.T.S. Dental College, Greater Noida organized a workshop on CBCT Navigated
Dentistry on 1st Feb 2017. The course was conducted by Dr. Sharad Sahai, Director Consultant,
DMD Imaging and Dr. Achint Garg, Professor and Head, Department of Oral Medicine &
Radiology, I.T.S. Dental College, Greater Noida.
The first session started with lecture on basic imaging module in Implantology to
understand the basics of 3D imaging from acquisition to interpretation and 3D navigated
diagnostic planning in implantology.
The second post lunch session involved troubleshooting and 3D imaging in Endodontics
followed by Trivia and Demonstration of Complex Cases.
The programme was concluded by vote of thanks by Dr. Vishwas Bahtia, Reader, Dept of
Prosthodontics.

Know Nois For No Noise Workshop (22.11.2017-23.11.2017)

Department of Pedodontics and Pediatric dentistry organized a two day interactive
program “Know Nois For No Noise” from 22nd Nov. to 23rd Nov. 2017. The program
was conducted in Vidya Auditorium at ITS Dental College, Greater Noida.
The event was inaugurated by Director-Principal, Dr.Akshay Bhargava and Dr.
Mousumi Goswami, (Prof and Head, Department of Pedodontics) with other faculty
members of the department.
Dr. Srinivas Nimeneni was the invited guest speaker for this program. Dr. Srinivas
Nimeneni is an eminent pedodontist. He has an exclusive hospital based pediatric
dentistry practice. He has delivered several lectures at national and international forums.
His name features in the list of contributors in the Textbook of Nitrous oxide and Oxygen
sedation by Morris S. Clark. Currently he is the President of Indian Society of
Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry.
Many children undergoing minor procedures need effective sedation, or anesthesia,
because they are frightened, in pain, ill, or have behavioral problems. Some procedures
are very common and anesthetists should know what sedation techniques are effective
and likely to be used by other healthcare practitioners. In children presenting for
anesthesia, occasionally, it may be appropriate to use conscious sedation instead.

Inhalational conscious sedation is a technique that uses Nitrous Oxide as an agent to
calm the patient and deliver painless dental treatment. Child remains in a state of
relaxation maintaining his protective reflexes during the treatment. Child who has
undergone this treatment can walk away same day. This technique is gaining wide
spread acceptance among Indian population.
In order to enhance skills of clinicians working in the department of pediatric dentistry;
a two day interactive programe was organized. This program involved a series of
lectures followed by hands on program. Thirty three participants who attended the
program included faculty members, post graduate students of ITS Dental College,
Greater Noida & Muradnagar.
First day involved a series of informative lectures elaborating the use of nitrous oxide
gas, its mechanism of action, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Technique of
use, Occupational hazards and safety measures to be taken while using nitrous oxide in
the machine were elaborated in great details.
Second day started with an interactive session and a doubt clearing session.
Participants clarified their doubts and queries regarding various aspects of conscious
sedation technique which was followed by a hands-on.
Hands-on started with an elaborate discussion on various parts of the machine. This
was followed by live demonstration on subjects. The program gave in-depth insights
into the technique. Some joyful moments were captured in the lens. This was followed
by felicitation of speaker done by Dr.Akshay Bhargava and Dr. Mousumi Goswami.
The enthusiasm in faculty and students could be easily palpable by one and all. The
event was followed by lunch for the dignitaries and delegates. The event was
academically gratifying.

SEMINAR ON CURRENT CONCEPTS IN MAXILLOFACIAL TRAUMA
The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at I.T.S Dental College, Greater Noida
organized a workshop for post graduate students on current concepts in maxillofacial trauma
on 17th October 2017.
Workshop commenced with an inaugural speech by Director-Principal Dr.Akshay
Bhargava, Dean-UG program and Maj Gen Dr. G. K Thapliyal, Professor & HOD, Department of
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. After extending a warm welcome to the august gathering, Dr
Thapliyal, introduced the resource person, Dr. Ajoy Roy Chaudhary, Professor and Head,
Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi. He
spoke at length about the various types of maxillofacial traumas. He then elucidated about the
conventional modalities that have been employed followed by describing in detail the newer
and advanced surgical approaches and technology available. The programme was concluded
with felicitation of the speaker by Dr. Bhargava and vote of thanks by Dr Himanshu Bhutani,
Reader, Dept. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Certificate Course in Oral Implantology
I.T.S. Dental College, Greater Noida organized an extensive three module Certificate Clinical
Implantology Course starting from 14th to 16th December 2017. The programme extending over three
modules covered a vast expanse of topics ranging from basic topics like applied anatomy of maxilla and
mandible, classification of dental implants and implant designs to advanced topics like sinus lift
procedures, immediate implants, partial extraction therapies.
The programme was headed by Dr. Akshay Bhargava, Director, along with Dr. Suraj Suvarna, HOD,
Department of Prosthodontics, Dr. G K Thapliyal, Head, Dept. of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr.
Sachit Anand Arora, Head, Dept. of Periodontics, Dr. Manisha Lakhanpal, Head, Dept. of Oral Medicine
and Radiology.
The Module II of the course was conducted on 22nd and 23rd January 2018 and the Module III was

WORKSHOP ON SMILE DESIGNING – A PRACTICAL INSIGHT
I.T.S Dental College, Greater Noida organized a Hands-on workshop and live
demonstration on Smile Designing on 18th February 2017. Designing a smile requires an in
depth understanding of facial and dental components. This workshop helped in understanding
the different components of diagnosis, case setup and the procedures required to create a
beautiful aesthetic smile. The course faculty was Dr Mohan Bhuvaneswaran, an accredited
member of American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and Dr. Rohit Kochhar, Prof and Head,
Depart,ent of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics.

Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology organized an extensive 2 day Workshop on
Excellence in Facial Aesthetics Lectures & Hands-on on 16th and 17th March 2018 in lieu of
the growing demand for facial rejuvenation in Vidya Auditorium of ITS Dental College,
Greater Noida.
Day 1
Workshop commenced with an inaugural ceremony on 16th March 2018 by Director-Principal
Dr.Akshay Bhargava, Dean-UG program, Dr.Sachit Anand Arora, Dr Manisha Lakhanpal
Sharma, Professor & HOD, Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology. After extending a
warm welcome to the august gathering, Dr Manisha Lakhanpal Sharma, introduced the
resource person Dr. Shourya Sharma (founder and CEO of Indian Academy of Facial
Aesthetics (IAOFE)), and Dr. Athreya Rajagopal, Maxillofacial and Facial Cosmetic Surgeon.
She spoke about the growing need for facial aesthetics with innovative rejuvenating procedures
in the field of dentistry. Also present on the occasion were all Dental & Medical HOD’s, other
faculty members, post graduate students, interns and private practitioners.

Director-principal, Dr. Akshay Bhargava addressed the delegates, post graduate students and
faculty members. He emphasized on the great need of improvising facial aesthetic with Botox,
Dermal Fillers and Threads in clinical practice.
After the inaugural ceremony, Dr. Shourya Sharma and Dr. Athreya Rajagopal delivered
comprehensive, evidence based lectures on aesthetic and therapeutic facets of Botox, Fillers and
Threads. Soon after the lectures, delegates were given hands-on on various facial aesthetic
procedures using Botox on patients having indication of Crow Lines, Forehead Lines, Masseter
Muscle Hypertrophy, TMD’s
and Gummy Smile.

then followed by Hands-on on various facial aesthetic procedures using Dermal Fillers for Black
Triangles, PRP for hair rejuvenation and Dermal Threads for face lift.
Day 2 came to an end with a valedictory function wherein the felicitation of the resource persons
was done by Dr. Akshay Bhargava and Dr. Sachit Anand Arora and participation certificates
were given to delegates. The feedback by the delegates was encouraging.
The enthusiasm in faculty and students could be easily palpable by one and all. The event was
followed by lunch for the dignitaries and delegates. The event was academically gratifying and a

SEMINAR ON MANAGEMENT OF GUNSHOT FACIAL INJURIES
The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at I.T.S Dental College, Greater Noida
organized a workshop on Gunshot facial injuries and their management on 13th February 2018.
Workshop commenced with an inaugural speech by Director-Principal Dr.Akshay
Bhargava, Dean-UG program in the presence of senior faculty, Dr.Sachit Anand Arora, Professor
& HOD, Department of Periodontics, and Maj Gen G. K Thapliyal, Professor & HOD, Department
of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. After extending a warm welcome to the august gathering, Dr
Thapliyal, introduced the resource person, Col. Dr. P. K. Chattopadhyay, Consultant Oral &
Maxillofacial Surgeon, R & R Hospital. He spoke at length about the various types of facial
traumas after gunshot injury and also gave an indepth insight on the various treatment options
possible in such cases.
After a short tea break the second session commenced with the second speaker of the
day Dr. Sidrat Fatima, Consultant anesthetist at Sharda University who spoke about the various
points to be noted when anesthetizing a patient during surgical management of maxillofacial
trauma.
The programme was concluded with felicitation of the speaker by Dr. Bhargava and vote
of thanks by Dr Gurjap Singh, Prof, Dept. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

IACDE North Zonal Conference
IACDE North Zonal Conference Being Organized At ITS Dental College Hospital And Research Center
Indian Association of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics had organized 1st IACADE North Zonal Conference at
ITS Dental College Hospital and Research Center, Greater Noida. The three day conference began on 20th
September and will end on 22nd September.
The three day event started with the Pre- Conference Courses on 20.09.2018 which was grand success. There were
hands on course on various topics ranging from Smile Designing, Basic skills in Photography, The Art of Scientific
Writing, wherein the more than 100 participants used the knowledge acquired during the course on live patient.
This conference had di"erent doctors as key note speakers that had benefited the students a lot. Main topic for the
conference was Smile design and Regenerative Endodontics which uses the concept of tissue engineering to
restore the root canals to a healthy state.
In this conference students and faculty members around more than 40 medical collages and a total of 300 students will
be attending the conference. Every day has 10 sessions in which research papers will be submitted and on the
last day of event best of 3 will be selected.
There was Keynote Lecture by Dr B Mohan, Secretary IACDE on the topic “Where Do We go Wrong in Aesthetics”. He
told the students that the success of any aesthetic treatment lies in the patience and precision in understanding the
patient problem. He showed his various case presentations and told that even the senior endodontists may also fail
to deliver best sometimes.
Dr Rohit Kochar on behalf of I.TS Dental College, Greater Noida extended a warm welcome to all the guests and

Certificate Course in Oral Implantology- Lecture by Dr. Adi Lorean(D.M.D)

I.T.S Dental College, Hospital and Research Centre organized a 2nd batch of Certificate Course
in Oral Implantology in collaboration with Titu Maiorescu University on 4th May 2018. An
International faculty Prof. Dr. Adi Laroen from Titu Maiorescu University, Bucharest
Romania delivered an enlightening lecture on oral implantology in Vidya Hall of the College.
Lecture commenced with an inaugural ceremony by invocation to Goddess Saraswati and lamp
lighting done by Director-Principal Dr. Akshay Bhargava; Dr. G.P Thapliyal, Professor &
Head Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Also present on the occasion were all
Dental & Medical HOD’s, other faculty members, post graduate students, interns and private
practitioners.
After extending a warm welcome to the august gathering, Dr Akshay Bhargava, introduced
Prof. Adi Lorean, a renowned lecturer at the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery dept. at Tel Aviv
University, Israel and an Associate Professor at the Implantology Department at the Titu
Maiorescu University in Romania. He was the Head of R&D dept. at Brainsgate ltd. that provides
pioneering treatment for stroke and dementia. He conducted international training program in
research treatment of stroke patients. He published articles and conducted pre-clinical and clinical
trials in over 20 countries and the co- author of six U.S patents. Prof. Lorean is a part of a research
conducted by Tigran ltd. on treating periimplantitis using titanium granules and is currently
involved in research projects related to dental implants placed in diabetic patients, long-term
outcome of implants treatments and non-invasive sinus lift augmentation surgical devices.
Prof. Adi Lorean, enlightened the participants on rehabilitation of atrophic posterior lower jaw
using various bone augmentation procedures and nerve repositioning. He also spoke about the
various bone graft materials in short and their specific indications based on his past experience of
25 years. Prof Adi Lorean also discussed various full mouth implant cases along with pros and
cons of all on four treatment modality.
All the students and faculty were vastly benefited by his lectures and we hope to implement the
knowledge imparted by him towards the welfare of patients visiting our institute. The enthusiasm
in faculty and students could be easily palpable by one and all. The event was followed by lunch
for the dignitaries and delegates. The event was academically gratifying and a great learning
experience.

One of the most required skills to be successful in practice is the management of patients. We hone our
skills and knowledge in college with our clinical training, however, the contribution of soft skills and
human relations is a very important aspect that governs our success in practice. Appreciating the need
for these skills the Institute organized a practice Management workshop on 21st Feb 2018.
The programme started with a welcome not by Dr. Mousumi Goswami, Head , Dept. of Pedodontics.
Following this the first session was initiated by Dr. Kunal Gupta who gave a deep insight of the dental
industry. He also gave useful tips on self development and personal skills, building a dental clinic,
team building and technology involved. Post a short break the second session began with Dr. Kunal
explaining in detail patient handling, analysis, promotion and marketing. Next was the queries session
where students presented lots of questions regarding clinic set up, methods of increasing patient opd,
and better marketing strategies.
The third session started with Dr. Akshay Bhargava, Director-Principal, ITS Dental College, who gave
the audience deep an extensive knowledge on Ethical Practices and Clinician Protection. Lastly the
session was concluded by Dr. Abhishek Nagpal, Professor, Dept of Prosthodontics, who summarized
the whole programme followed by vote of thanks by Dr. Sachit Anand Arora.

WORKSHOP ON ENDODONTIC SMILE DESIGNING WITH CERAMIC
LAMINATES
I.T.S Dental College, Greater Noida organized a Hands-on workshop on Endodontic Smile
Designing with Ceramic Laminates on 20th September 2018. The workshop commenced with
inaugural speech by Dr. Rohit Kochhar, Head, Dept. of Endodontics. Following this, the speaker
of the day was introduced, Dr. Mohan Bhuvaneswaran, a reputed clinician in the field of
Aesthetic Dentistry and Smile Designing.
Over the course of the day Dr. Mohan gave an in depth insight on the role of ceramic
laminates in smile designing, their advantages, indications, contraindications and techniques
involved. The event was concluded by felicitation of the speaker with a planter by the Principal,
Dr. Sachit Anand Arora and vote of thanks by Dr. Ruchika Dewan, Professor, Dept of
Endodontics.

3rd Clinical Clinical Implantology Course
I.T.S. Dental College, Greater Noida organized its 3rd edition of three module Certificate Clinical
Implantology Course in collaboration with Alberta Unoiversity . the first module of the program was
conducted on6th and 7th May 2019. The programme extending over three modules covers a vast
expanse of topics ranging from basic topics like applied anatomy of maxilla and mandible, classification
of dental implants and implant designs to advanced topics like sinus lift procedures, immediate
implants, partial extraction therapies.

The Indian Orthodontic Orthodontic Society along with I.T.S. Dental College, Greater Noida,

WORKSHOP ON GUIDE TO DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY: HANDS-ON
COURSE
The significance of maintaining dental records is profound and mandatory
for a number of reasons ranging from academic interests to documentation. It is
important for the clinician to have an apt knowledge of photography for procuring
ideal photographic records. To cater for this need, the Department of Orthodontics
and Dentofacial Orthopedics in association with Canon organized a seminar on
digital photography on 21st May 2019.
The course faculty for the workshop was Dr. Tarun Sharma, Professor,
Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at Seema Dental
College, Rishikesh, an expert in the field of photography. The programme
commenced with a lecture on basic fundamentals and understanding the system by
the speaker followed by an interactive session for preparing the camera for clinical
condition. This was followed by hands on interactive session on extra oral
photography.
The post lunch session was conducted with another hands on interactive
session for intra oral photography. The last session was on photography
requirements for publications and presentations. The programme was concluded
with vote of thanks by Dr. Anshul Singla, Professor, Department of Orthodontics.

WEBINAR ON “A NOVEL EVIDENCE BASED PROGNOSTIC SCORING
INDEX FOR PERIODONTALLY DISEASED MOLARS”
The Department of Periodontics conducted a webinar on novel evidence
bases prognostic index for periodontally diseased molars on 26th April 2019. The
Guest Speaker of the event was D. Gopalakrishnan, Dean, Faculty of Dentistry,
D.Y. Patil Vidhyapeeth, Pune who delivered a deep insight on prognosis in
periodontics based on tooth mobility an objective evidence based scoring system
that provides a prognosis score for each individual tooth.

WEBINAR ON SINUS LIFT PROCEDURES
The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in collaboration with
Geislich Biomaterials conducted a webinar on sinus lift procedure on 24th May
2019. The first lecture of the programme was given by Dr Michael Norton who
explained in detail about planning and assessment before any sinus elevation
procedure followed by a second lecture by Dr Pascal Valentini who elucidated the
various techniques and methods employed in sinus lift procedures.
