Swami Tattwajnanananda ji. I had the opportunity of seeing him on the occasion of the 175th birth anniversary of Thakur Sri Ramakrishna in January 2011 and had an inspiring interaction with him. I take this opportunity to convey my condolences to all his colleagues and followers at the Ramakrishna Mission Shilpamandira, who would be carrying forward the values and teachings of this great soul. It is indeed sad news. All of us here had hoped to see him recover. We can only pray that wherever he is, he is more comfortable. May his soul be forever in peace. The glory of Maharaj Tattwajnanananda is spread allover in my personal and professional life as my Guide and Philosopher. Maharaj has created the Engineer in me, made me construct my life in such away that I can hold hands of my successors. His constant inspiration and support will keep Him alive with all of us. It is very hard to believe that today I am writing condolence message for my revered Hemanta Maharaj. Words cannot describe the shock the report of his death has been to me. His sudden grimmest death has

come to me as a bolt from the blue, who knows but the world may end tonight. It is really difficult to express my heartfelt sorrow and the memories for the person whom I believed my true mentor, guide and philosopher. He was a source of inspiration, a solace to my sorrow and a benevolent to me. I am surprised to think what a legacy he left behind. The man born & brought up in Mumbai in a traditional well established Marathi cultured family, educated in Masters and started career in USA with a mind-blowing career path - - sacrificed everything inspired with the thought of Ramakrishna Mission and landed himself in Belur Math in 1983 as a young monk and made himself accustomed to the Bengali culture and overcame the tremendous struggle to establish today’s widespread name of RKMS. I had many opportunities to seat at his feet and received his blessings; it is rather rare opportunities for me. I am one of the fortunate among others to cherish the remarkable days and moments I got the opportunity to spend with him in Singapore and Mumbai in last two consecutive Durga pujas. Every time, I was surprised to see his vision, leadership and thought process for the further betterment of the RKMS and for the student’s future. Even in Singapore, he spent entire day, had meeting with the authorities of polytechnic college to see what new can be adopted for RKMS and for the students. He was full of energy and never felt tired for augmenting the opportunities for the students of RKMS. Last year, in the month of October, he travelled extensively Hyderabad, Bangalore & Mumbai and met many of the corporate leaders to secure the promises for the “campus interviews” for the students. Many a time I accompanied and astonished to perceive his elegance and energy for his beloved students (he used to quote them as his children). He didn’t earned money, but he won the heart of many. He left an indelible mark on our heart and his spirituality, advises never to be erased till our death. His death is an irreparable loss to the RKMS. I extend my heartfelt condolences, pray to Ramakrishna Paramhansadev to provide solace to the departed soul. May his soul rest in peace. We all feel very sad to hear this news, personally I missed a great friend from Chicago days and of course a guide in spiritual journey. The way he was injured and hospitalized I am sure Thakur knows the best to take him into his lap rather than suffer on the earth after partial recovery. I felt awfully shocked to learn about the sad and untimely “prayan” of our respected “Maharaj”. I am not among his uncountable students, but my son is. From him, I had, on numerous days, learnt about the highest degree of care he had for them, how he had taught them to be disciplined, how he had maintained discipline in the campus to elevate it into an un-matching superior standard. On two occasions I have had the opportunity to see him from a distance and I was mesmerized to hear his uttering the hymns and his spontaneous singing of songs for the young students during “Nabin Baran”. The aura of knowledge, the grace of disciplined love, the fatherly affection and control had an unending effect on his students. I being an ordinary visitor, had an everlasting picture of his gracious presence

in my mind and I shall for ever keep it in my mind. A great man like him never dies, he will continue to live in the hearts of hundreds and thousands of his students ( or “his sons” ) for ever, his spirit will continue to elevate the Shilpamandira to newer heights day by day and his breath will be felt in its every sphere of development.
