JUST KEEP SWIMMING

MIDDLE SCHOOLERS PARTICIPATE IN THEIR FIRST SWIM GALA

The Concordia Middle School swim team, led by Coach Elizabeth Buss, made their debut at the British Vietnam International School Invitational Swim Gala this past weekend. The friendly meet-up allowed entrants to showcase their skills in the 25m breast stroke, 50m breast stroke, 100m team relays, and other fun events on the day. The ethos of the swim gala was for inclusion, involvement and the overall promotion of swimming within the Hanoi community.

SWIMMING UNIT IN PE

Every year as part of the regular Physical Education classes, all Concordia students have a swim unit that allow them time to improve their swimming skills. Preschool through Middle School students spent time in the water working on breathing, floating, endurance, learning new strokes, and if time permitted, maybe even had a little fun.

FIRST ANNUAL CONCORDIA LADIES GOLF TOURNAMENT

Sixteen lady golfers (and six supportive gentlemen!) came out for our 1st Annual Ladies Golf Tournament to raise money for the school’s activity fund. Despite the heat, they had a wonderful day out on the beautiful Van Tri course, future home to our new Concordia Campus, which has a planned opening of August 2015.

From this fun event, we were able to raise just over $3,000 USD, which is no small feat. These funds will go towards creating future school activities in athletics, art, and music. Thank you to all involved and we look forward to a bigger and better event next year!

THE SOUND OF MUSIC

Can you feel the rhythm of Broadway on the Concordia stage? Over 250 people in the Concordia auditorium sang, clapped, and bobbed their head to the beat of the musical hits performed by students in Preschool- Grade 8.

Songs performed included some of the agreats from over 15 Broadway musicals, including The Sound of Music, the King and I, The Lion King, Oliver!, Les Miserables, Grease and many more.

Well done students and thank you for such a fantastic show!

MANY BRUSHES FOR DIFFERENT JOBS

BRUSH PROJECT PRESCHOOL

Brushes are part of our everyday life- but what are all of them for? Mrs. Elliott’s Preschool class set out to discover the many uses for brushes and just how efficient they might be for each task. Here they are testing all sorts of brushes out on one of their classmate’s cars. How many different kinds of brushes can you spot?

A HUGE thank you to our Concor-dia parents who put on a won-derful Teachers Appreciation Day event. The faculty and staff were truly touched by your efforts!
