International pianist Leon McCawley comes to New Lanark with a programme of sonatas by some of the greatest classical composers.
Praised for his unfailingly communicative playing, British pianist Leon McCawley won first prize in the 1993 International Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna and second prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition the same year and we are very fortunate to be able to welcome him to Music in Lanark.

This trio was born out of the annual Cantilena Festival, held on the Island of Islay, involving both professional musicians and students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. We welcome the piano trio – headed by Lanark violinist Angus Ramsay – for a programme of Viennese classics by Johann Strauss, Joseph Lanner, Fritz Kreisler and Josef Strauss. Including the ever-popular Blue Danube Waltz and the Tritsch Tratsch Polka.
