Concept Mapping

• Developed by Joseph D. Novak and his research team at Cornell University in the 1970s

• As a tool to increase meaningful learning in the sciences and other subjects

• Concept maps consist of nodes and labeled lines.

• SVG is used to create concept maps dynamically.

Why SVG ?• Can be read and modified easily• Are smaller than JPEG and GIF images• Are scalable• Text in SVG is selectable and searchable• SVG works with Java technology• SVG is an open standard• SVG files are pure XML

CONCLUSIONS & FUTURE WORK

• Concept mapping will provide a method for users to grasp the structure of the database by viewing it in a graphical format

• This module can be used to display any database structure with some minor changes.
