CONFERRED ON SHRI. S. A. KHUBA

SILVASSA 19 – The Solapur Chapter of Computer Society of India has conferred

first "CSI-IT AWARD" to Shri. S. A. Khuba Technical Director & I/C State

Informatics Officer National Informatics Centre (Dadra & Nagar Haveli UT and

Daman & Diu UT Centre) Secretariat Silvassa for his role and efforts in promoting e-

Governance in Solapur district, implementation of Wired Village Project

Warananager in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra State during June 1988 to June

2001. Wired Village Project Warananager was the national level G2C services pilot

project initiated by PMO in 1998. It was a tri party joint project of Govt. of India,

Govt. of Maharashtra and Warana Group of Cooperative Industries.

Three persons who did noteworthy work in the IT field and is either born or

educated in Solapur district of Maharashtra State were selected for this years‟ “CSI-

IT Award”. The award is instituted by Solapur Chapter of Computer Society of India.

The awards were sponsored by Laxmi Hydraulics Pvt. Ltd, Balaji Amines Pvt. Ltd

and Smruthi Organics Pvt. Ltd. These are non IT products manufacturering and

export industries.

INAGURATION of AWARD PRESENTATION CEREMONY

MD of Laxmi Hydraulics Pvt. Ltd in his inaugural speech on the behalf of

award sponsoring industries said “…out of our Corporate Social Responsibility under

IT for masses category we are sponsoring this CSI-IT Award……” Shri. Vikram

Mule Regional Manager H.P. India Sales Pvt. Ltd. Pune has presented the awards in

the glittering function organized in an a/c conference hall of a 3 star hotel on 17th

April, 2009 at Solapur in Maharashtra State.

Shri. Shailesh Thigale introduced Shri. S. A. Khuba while doing so

spontaneously said “……Shri. S. A. Khuba is pride of Solapur in IT field…….”

Shri S. A. Khuba during his presentation and thanks giving speech dedicated

his award to NIC and to the people who had worked with him. The august gathering

has acknowledged this by applauds.

The second recipient of the award was Shri. Atul Kahate. Shri. Kahate is Head

of Technology Practice Group in Oracle Financial Services Software Pvt. Ltd. Pune.

Shri. Kahate is scorer and statistician for the international test and limited overs

cricket matches and wrote twenty books on IT subject which are published by Tata

Mc-Graw Hill and Pearson Education. Shri. Kahate‟s lectures in Marathi on IT

educating common man are being currently broadcasted in serials on TV channels.

His articles on IT are published by many Marathi news papers. „Loksatta‟ is one of

them. The third recipient of the award was Shri. Sham Yemul who is owner and

CEO of Intellisoft Pvt.Ltd. Shri. Sham Yemul has got award for software design/

development/ implementation in Solapur and customization of IT projects from

international clients.

The award ceremony function was graced by presence of Dr. Arun Deshpande

who is chief of “Prayog Pariwar” a NGO promoting application of innovative

technology in rural area. Dr. Arun Deshpande was in Dept. of Electronics Govt. of

India worked with Dr. N. Vitthal the then Secretary of DoE. Chairman/MDs of

industrial units in Solapur viz. Precision Camshafts, Smruthi Organics, Balaji Amines

and Laxmi Hydraulics, Director of Indian Hume Pipe Co. Ltd. Ex-Vice Chancellor of

Solapur University. Dr. Suhas Raut of Motorola Hydrabad, Dr. Gengje Ex-Employee

of TCS Bangloru, Officer from NIC Collector office Solapur, Principals, faculties of

Diploma/ Degree Engineering Colleges, Medicos, Charter Accountants, Advocates,

friends and family members of awardees etc were present for the award presentation

function.
