P.V. Rajamannar committee recommended making the Finance Commission a permanent body.

In 1969, the Tamil Nadu Government(DMK) appointed a three-member

committee under the chairmanship of Dr P V Rajamannar to examine the

entire question of Centre-state relations and to suggest amendments to the

Constitution to secure utmost autonomy to the states. The committee

submitted its report to the Tamil Nadu Government in 1971.

Recently ISRO has decided to transfer its own lithium-ion cell technology to Indian industries on a non-

exclusive basis for use in automobiles for Rs 1 crore. The initiative will accelerate the development of

indigenous electric vehicle industry.

The Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) located in Kerala will transfer the lithium-ion cell technology

to the successful Indian industries/start-ups on the non-exclusive basis to establish production facilities

in the country that can produce cells of varying size, capacity, energy density and power density catering

to the entire spectrum of power storage requirements.

Lithium-ion (Li-ion) cell technology is one of the most promising electrochemical energy storage technologies

owing to its high voltage, high energy density, long life cycle and high storage characteristics. It finds wide

applications in electronic gadgets, telecommunication and industrial applications as well as in aerospace.

Recent progress in Li-ion battery technology has made it the favourite power source for electric and hybrid

electric vehicles. ISRO's Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) has successfully developed and qualified

lithium-ion cells of capacities ranging from 1.5 Ah to 100 Ah for use in satellites and launch vehicles.

With the successful deployment of indigenous lithium-ion batteries in various missions of ISRO, VSSC is
