When we praise a work of non-fiction we say things like This book is very informative. I have learnt a good deal that I didn’t know

before. This book explains these concepts very

clearly. This book presents a lot of information in a

very interesting way. The layout is very attractive and the graphics

are excellent.

If we want to criticize a work of non-fiction, we say I found the book rather confusing. The author didn’t have any direction. The book had little to say . The illustrations are not helpful The diagrams are not attractive.

Understanding a Biography

While reading a story , always think of the following questions:

Who is this person? Is this person a good person or a bad

person? Why do we have to study this person?

He died while saving the victims in the fire. He was a hero.

What event made this person famous?
