Hot GraphicEnables an end user to click on blue hot spot pin graphics over an image and display a detailed popup that includes an image with text:

Clicking the blue pin above the first of the pictures in the image displays this popup:

In this example, clicking the arrow of the case study’s text and graphic pushes them to the right to reveal another combination of text and graphic, in this example, a set of numbered suggestions on a graphical background:

Clicking the arrow of the numbered suggestions text on background graphic pulls it back to the left to reveal the first text and graphic (in this example, case study) screen again.

MediaEnables the end user to play back, in their HTML5 compatible web browser, media files you’ve previously uploaded to LearningPool’s Catalogue or Adapt’s Asset Manager Library, such as MP3 audio files, MP4 and OGV format video files (separate versions are needed - ones with burnt-in subtitles that cannot be turned off by the end user, and ones without subtitles). NB: There’s a Flash Player fallback for anyone using the Internet Explorer 8+ web browser:

Responsive iFrameAllows embedded content to display from another website by using the src part of an HTML5 <iframe> tag, that will respond to theme breakpoints. This is useful for displaying, in your Adapt module, videos that are hosted on YouTube, if you want the end user to be able to control whether subtitles are displayed or not (assuming they’ve been added by the person uploading the video to You Tube) by using the control available via the embedded YouTube video player:

When setting up the component in Adapt, you only need to copy and paste, into the appropriate field of the Adapt form, the src (ie URL) part of the <iframe> tag’s code from YouTube’s Share -> Embed area under the video (the bit in quote marks starting https:// ) :

Components for quizzes in Adapt modules

Multiple Choice QuestionEnables the end user to answer a question by selecting one or more correct answers given as text. NB: Questionnaires are useful where there is a “right” answer(s), such as when reviewing legislation, but are less helpful when there are grey areas and there could be a difference of opinion as to which is the correct answer:

Graphical Multiple Choice QuestionEnables the end user to answer a question by selecting one or more correct answers given as graphics:

Matching QuestionAllows the end user to pick a correct answer from a drop-down listbox of possible answers to a series of questions on a similar subject. NB: Questionnaires are useful where there is a “right” answer(s), such as when reviewing legislation, but are less helpful when there are grey areas and there could be a difference of opinion as to which is the correct answer:

Text InputAllows the end user to input one or more words or numbers / sentences / a short paragraph based upon a question asked:

Open Text InputAllows the end user to input open text (paragraphs or essay) based upon a question asked. Best practise for long answers is to save the text on a regular basis before finally submitting it. Once submitted, the end user can then compare their text to a model answer:
