A hard drive is a the computers main storage media device that permanently stores all data to the computer.

A hard drive is usually the size of a paper back book but much heavier. The hard drive is mounted so that the end with the connections face the computer. The sides of the hard drive have pre drilled threaded holes for easier mounting

A sound card is an expansion card that allows the computer to send sound to another device such as headphones and speakers.

You know it is the sound card when you can understand what devices plug into it.

Video Card

The video card is a card that displays graphic and videos on your computers without one of these you wouldn’t see anything

The video card is a small chip with a fan on top of it. You can usually find this by finding the video output on the behind of your computer.

Power Supply

A power supply is a component that applies power to the computer.

A power supply is a medium sized box with a fan in it. It can be found at the top rear of the tower.

CD ROM

A CD ROM is CD players inside computer. They have the capability of playing audio CDs and computer data CDs.

The CD ROM is a square metal box that has a disc drive that pops out when you press the small button, it is located on the front of the tower.

CPUThe CPU is the central processing unit. CPU is used to process all of the infromation and all the things you are doing on your computer. the CPU is the most important element of a computer system.

The CPU is a small metal square that is mounted on to the mother board.

Motherboard

The motherboard is used to hold of the cruital parts of your computer . It is the back bone of your computer.

The mother board is the biggest chip in the computer ,that the CPU, Video card, Sound card, RAM and hard drive are all connected to. It is very easy to find because it is so big.

BIOSThe BIOS is the program the computer processer uses to turn the computer on. It also manages data flow between the different components of the computer.

The BIOS is a black metal square sometimes small and has BIO written on it . It is located on the mother board.

RAM

The RAM is the random access of memory It is mainly used by programs.

The RAM is medium sized metal chip you can find it on the mother board.
