1. Duty on Eurostat to monitor compliance with European statistical legislation
2. Undertaken in two inter-related ways:
• On-going review by the relevant operational units as a standard part of the data reception and validation process
• More formal annual Eurostat-wide compliance monitoring exercise, organised by the Eurostat Legal and Institutional Affairs Unit in cooperation with the relevant operational units
3. Formal letters (if any) addressed to Director General of the NSI in autumn 2015

• LFS• SILC• Population and housing Census• Migration and international protection• European demographic statistics • ESSPROS• Education and lifelong learning, • Public health and health and safety at work• Job Vacancy Statistics (JVS)• Labour Costs Index (LCI)

No data were required to be transmitted under this reference period (1 August 2014 to 31 July 2015) for:
• Structural statistics on earnings and labour costs• Participation of adults in lifelong learning (AES)• CVTS• European Health Interview Survey (EHIS)

In total, compliance is good but further efforts required in 17 countries:
• 13 countries for JVS (seasonally-adjusted series)• 7 countries for asylum, EIL and residence permits• 4 countries for SILC and for the LCI• 2 countries for ESSPROS• 1 country for European demographic statistics
