the importance of health andhygiene. Dr. Bias furtherurged the students to imbibegood habits vis-à-vis hygieneand advised them to do regu-lar physical exercise andavoid junk food, smoking andalcohol intake.
The students participatedinteractively and clearedtheir doubts regarding com-mon disorders concerningbones.

STATE TIMES NEWS KATHUA: TheInspectorate Staff of Drugsand Food ControlOrganization suspended thelicense of four ChemistShops during surprise raidshere at Lakhanpur andBillawar. The exercise wasnecessitated amidst reportsof mis-use of preparationscontaining Tramadol andSildenafil Citrate.
Tramadol has beenbrought under the purviewof NDPS Act, 1985 for itsnature and effect and scopeof abuse, whereas SildenafilCitrate is used to treat erec-tile dysfunction. The gener-al complaint about the abovedrugs was that these werebeing sold without valid pre-scription from health practi-
tioners.The inspecting team seized
available stocks of suchdrugs worth approximatelyrupees forty-five thousandand suspended license ofM/s Gupta Medical Store,M/s Angel Medicos atBillawar and AshwaniMedicos, M/s KamalMedicos and Life lineMedicos at Lakhanpur. 19samples of various cate-gories of drugs were liftedfor purpose of checkingtheir identity, purity andstrength.
Further investigation/pro-cedure of the Act is beingfollowed to deal with viola-tions by the above licenseestrictly as per mandate ofthe Drugs and CosmeticsRules, 1945.

BANIHAL: Army organised a medical campfor the local populace of Villages Ukhral,Pogul, Paristan and adjoining remote areasof Banihal region.
The medical camp was conducted by a teamof army doctors along with medical staff toaddress the medical problems of populace infar flung and remote areas of the region.Alongwith the medical care, awareness wasalso spread about positive health practices,family planning, cleanliness, hygiene andhealthy living. More than 1,100 patients,including senior citizens, men, women andchildren benefitted from medical treatmentand check up provided by Army. Medicineswere also distributed to the patients.
