Independence Day Special
A brief description about
'Independence Day' was given to

Patriotic Song Competition
A Hindi Patriotic song Competition was held
on 3rd August where students of classes III to V
invoked a strong sense of patriotism in the
audience through their songs.
Janmashtami Celebration
Students of classes 1 & 2 celebrated lord Krishna's
birthday 'Janamashtami ' with great enthusiasm.
Theywere adorned as various characters like
Vasudev, Yashoda, Gopis, Sudama and Radha.

Scenery making Competition
The Scenery making C o m p e t i t i o n w i t h
geometrical figures was conducted under CCA Activity on 24 th August. Students of classes I and II showed their creativity and made beautiful sceneries using various geometrical shapes.
Show and Tell Activity
A Show and Tell Activity was presented by the students of classes I and II on 17th August on the
topic “Seven Wonders”. The kids confidently spoke about the seven wonders of the world and
they were found to be very good orators.

Elocution competition was held in the school for the students of the classes III to V . The topic of the
activity was 'Preventive measures to reduce solid waste.' The activity taught the students about
different kinds of solid wastes and their harmful effects. The students also learned about the solid
waste management.

Hasya Natak
The Hindi Department organized 'Hasya Natak' competition on
23 August to mark the Hindi Literary Month. The middle
school students staged hilarious and comic plays which
brought staff and audience together to appreciate their dramatic
skills. The students took jibe at different social themes.
As a part of British Council ISA action plan, the four houses of the school represented four countries,
USA, India, UK and China wherein the students of each house prepared the profile of each country
taking into account their climatic conditions, geographical location, culture, lifestyle and
government. The students prepared exquisite models of each of the seven wonders.

The students of classes III to V of Nature club
went on a sloganeering drive to encourage
people to save water. Students not only raised
the slogan but also made people aware about the
ways to save water.

Effects of Waste on Health and Environment
The students of classes III to V, through a musical enactment expressed their emotions conveying a
message on the Ill-effects of Waste on Health and Environment in a competition which was held on 31
August.
Workshops
Cookery Workshop
Ms. SURBHI MALIK took the students to a cookery
workshop that was held at MAX MUELLER ON 17
AUGUST 2017 . Students prepared potato salad,
chocolate and apple scramble. The source person was
Clara Schaksmeier. The students enjoyed the sumptuous dishes in the workshop.
German workshop "Treffpunkt Deutsch”
German workshop "Treffpunkt Deutsch" was held on 24.8.17 at Max Mueller Bhavan. It was
conducted by Ms. Mani Kohli. Ms. SURBHI MALIK ( German Teacher) also attented the
workshop and learnt to make German lessons creative for the students

The Institute of Science and
Technology organized a day's event
"Todh-Phod-Jodh" for the middle and
senior classes. The event explicitly
taught the students the practical
approach of science with the help of
experiments and innovative models.
Review for Self Help Book
Ms. Pooja, PGT Economics presented book review
on a self help book, '7 Habits of Highly Effective
People'. She started the review by explaining that
only material success is not sufficient for
developing personal effectiveness and growing
healthy relationship with other people. She ended
the review with an overwhelming song from the
film 'Dor', which also conveys the same message.

Good Touch & Bad Touch
A workshop was conducted on 'Good Touch
& Bad Touch' by the Pre-Primary teachers
on 29 August. It was a session, which aimed
at creating awareness
among children to
differentiate between good
and bad touch.
Green Schools Program Teacher Orientation Workshop
On 2nd August, one of our faculty members
Ms. Parul Gaur attended a Green Schools
Programme Teacher orientation workshop at
'Centre for Science and Environment ' in New
Delhi.
Workshop at Salaam Namaste
A visit to Salaam Namaste, a FM Broadcasting station, was organized for the students of class IV on
10 th Aug,. The students got the exposure to the working environment of a Radio station. The visit
was organized to develop and enhance their practical knowledge on the functioning of same.
On 24 August, our students visited American
Center to attend lecture which was delivered by a senior scientist, Dr. Henry Throop of Planetary
Science Institute in Tucson, Arizona, USA. The topic of the day was, "Are we alone in the Universe?"

ISKCON Temple Visit
Pre - Primary students of the school visited ISKCON Temple with their teachers on 11th August,
2017 to celebrate 'Krishna Janmashtami'. They also interacted with the temple staff.

Visit to Kohinoor Factory
On 25th August 2017, an educative and fun filled trip was organized to "Kohinoor Parle-G factory, Noida"
for the students of class VI. Students saw a short animated movie about the inception of Parle-G factory.
Students were fascinated to see the making of their favourite candies. The day turned out to be exciting and
resourceful for the students.
An educative and fun filled trip was organized to National Bal Bhavan,
New Delhi for the students of class III on 16th August, The kids also
visited the exclusive museum of Bal Bhawan. Rich collection of toys
and dolls in the museum fascinated the kids.

Awards & Recognitions
Fantasia
On 18 August, the student of primary wing, Sachleen Kaur participated
in an event 'Fantasia' which was a subset of a two day annual event
'Sparkle 2017'. Sachleen participated as 'Witch of Narnia', a character
of a fantasy novel by C.S. Lewis. She presented her character with ease
and secured 3rd place among so many children from different schools.
Reign the Salad
On 18 August, our students attended an event ' Reign the
Salad' in JKG International School where they participated
in French salad making competition. The students of class
VII, Akansha, Divya and Ananya secured third position on
their artistic presentation of salad.

Our students took active participation in Swacch Bharat
India Contest 2016-17 which was a national level
competition. The step was instituted by GM Educom
Pvt.Ltd. to fulfill the mandate of the Swacch Bharat Campaign. Essay writinng annd colourinng competition
were organized for the students. The school was honored
with Swachh School Excellence award along with cash prize and a trophy. The students were
awarded with Gold and Silver medals.
Swacch Bharat India Contest
The Behtar India Campaign, a nationwide movement is divided into three main phases. The
participants are ranked on the quantum of their contribution in each phase. On 4 August, our school
was invited to participate in the conclave as our school secured 39th position on national level and was
ranked 18th at regional level amongst all the schools of India.

On 9th August, the students of senior classes participated in a mega quiz conducted by ITS Education Group in the school's auditorium. 3 students, Ronit Singh, Ayush Upadhyay and Tushar Tyagi bagged the first.second and third postions respectvely.

Quiz Competition by ITS
Under the flagship of Fuelz Sports Event Management, our students aged under-17 played 5th Inter
School Football Tournament at Aster Public School, Noida on 12th and 13th August. The tournament
brought together many schools of NCR and Delhi wherein our players gave a spell binding
performance. Our team stood at the first position Sanslar Bisht got man of the match.

Athletics Championship
In the 'Inter School District Athletics Championship' which
was organized by District Athletics Association, Ghaziabad
in Delhi Public School, our students defeated around 50
teams arrived from the length and breath of National
Capital Region. The day witnessed a brilliant display of our
outstanding athletes.
On 25 August, one of our students, Ayushi Durgapal participated in an
Inter School Competition 'Abhivyakti' in Nehru World School. She
recited a poem on 'Veer Ras', depicting the glory and valour of alpha
queen and a freedom fighter, Rani Laxmi Bai. Ayushi stood 2nd among
the students of various schools.

Independence Day Celebration
The school celebrated the 71st Independence Day
with a pledge to work together to bring a change
and to move together in the path of development.
A befitting tribute was paid to the freedom fighters
through patriotic songs and dance performances
presented by the students.

International Youth Day
On 8th August, the school celebrated the 'International Youth
Day' in the morning assembly. The day is dedicated to celebrate
young people's contribution for the upliftment of the society as
well as their efforts to bring sustainable peace on the Earth.
On 1st August, National Day of Peace was observed in the
special assembly. In an inspiring speech, students laid the
emphasis on strengthening the ideals of peace on the globe.
