How We Can Help

Our Competent Person Service is designed to help meet this ‘competent person’ legal obligation without having to employ an additional member of staff.

One of our experienced consultants would act as your safety adviser for a period of 12 months and would:• Issue a Certificate of Appointment.• Complete an initial Safety Healthcheck Baseline Audit – this Audit

is designed to help ensure you meet your legal obligations. Our consultant will make a visit and will then produce a report providing an overview of your main health and safety issues, including:

• Indications as to where you are failing to comply with health and safety legislation.

• Your significant risks. • An action plan to identify your key priorities and clear guidance

on how you can address these.

• Provide ongoing support to help you complete your action plan including:

• Telephone support via our Helpline. • Annual visit (subject to renewal) to discuss your progress,

undertake workplace inspections and help you develop your safety management systems.

• Receipt of our Triannual Newsletter which details changes to legislation and offers updates, advice and free resources.
