CHARACTER OF HESTER (POSITIVE)

• Hester is a woman who punished by society

• Hester is responsible woman and a good mother .

• Hester is a real character.

• She tries to save her lover.

• She always support her daughter.

Mira was always busy in worshiping Krishna

She is saintly figure

People think that her love is spiritual love for lord Krishna

Meerabai also know for her song and hymn, special for Krishna

CHARACTER OF HESTER (NEGATIVE)

• Herter is not faithful to her husband.

• She having affair with Dimmesdale.

• She is the reason of her husband's death. ( guilt conscious of Chillingworth )

• She also responsible for death of Dimmesdale. (guilt conscious of Dimmesdale)

WHAT IS IN THE CUCKOLD?

In the book we found that a Rajput prince in the 16th century is faced with question

that – someone whose beautiful bride (Meera) refuses to let him enter her bed

claiming because she is in love with someone else – the Hindu god, ‘Krishna’

(not spiritual but physical love)

She is not faithful to her husband Having affair with another man, Krishna.

As a queen of Mevad her behavior is not appropriated.

She dance with group of saint in the street of Mevad.

As queen she must have maintain her public image as queen.

Maybe Meera was the reason of her husband’s death.

• Meera was unfaithful to Bhoja Raja.

• Meera love Krishna. (as person, not god)

• Bhoja Raja knows about love affair of Meera, so he becomes mentally disturb and unsound. He cannot beare it that’s why he was died.

• She was also spoiled woman and get punishment (according to Bhoja Raja and Ranaji)

• She also live alon.

• Hester was unfaithful to Mr. Chillingworth.

• Hester loves Mr. Dimmesdale.

• Chillingworth committed suicide (because of guilt consciousness)

• She is punished because she is “spoiled woman” (according to society).

• Because of her punishment she must have to live in forest (Alone).

Meera became famous as saint Meerabai.

• In case of both , there love is spiritual love because Krishna is connected with spirituality or known as god, same Mr. Dimmesdale was priest . (according to society)

• At the end of my discussion,….• We can says that situation of women is

same whether it’s in India or America.• Everything is same in the world because

after all human nature is same.• Will power of both give them fame.
