Short descriptive words: X ---er than Y Long descriptive words: X more ------ than Y Good: better Bad: worse Far: further/farther: e.g. I ran pretty far yesterday, but I ran even further today.
Short descriptive words: the ---est Long descriptive words: the most --- Good: the best Bad: the worst Far: the furthest/the farthest.
You are comparing TWO or MORE.
The adjective is SHORT or LONG.
Be careful with the EXCEPTIONS.
b) change the word: good, bad, far
better, worst, further
a) double the letter: flat, fat, hot, thin, wet, big
dim, mad, sad, slim.
Eg.:bigger than/ the biggest
c) change Y into i: happy, happy, busy.
