Spectrum of work Tyris Construction was formed in 1995 on the back of tenders won to conduct repairs at two Eskom substations. The Company soon fostered an excellent reputation building residential, commercial and retail structures with the introduction of Tyris Realty in 2002 and Tyris Plant Hire in 2007. These three divisions were combined to form the Tyris Group.

Tyris Construction has established a solid reputation for delivering architectural craftsmanship and engineering whilst providing turnkey solutions for clients. Tyris fosters a distinct Company culture and a true sense of family, committed to building

relationships based on trust, integrity and respect.

The Prinshof Lecture Hall Complex at the

University of Pretoria was awarded to Tyris

Construction based on the reference

provided by Wits University.

Completed in Dec 2015, this four-story building complex of approximately 11 500 m2 comprised of a semi-basement, four 400-seater lecture halls, 66 administration offices interstitial floors for student studying, a student health clinic, cafeteria, gym and external works.

The interesting façade of the building was a monumental task and the first undertaking of its kind in South Africa. The Grata Brise Soleil sunscreen louvres, Carl Stahl Cable system, Mentis Grip Weld gratings and powder coated infused steel plates gave the building a wave effect. Other challenges faced included heavy rains and flooding during basement construction, a steel strike and glass shortages. All which Tyris overcame, with the Project completed on time and within budget to the complete satisfaction of the Client. See Testimonial Annexure

The Evergreen Lifestyle Centre

in Fourways, Johannesburg is a

2000m2 facility and forms part of

an existing Evergreen Retirement

Village. Completed in 2017, the

facility includes 32 intensive care

rooms, dining area, kitchen,

restaurant, indoor swimming pool

and gym.

Teamwork and good communication

formed the backbone of this Project. The

warehouse, located in Germiston, was

completed in March 2017 and measures

6,790 m2 with a 370mm steel-fiber

reinforced floor and 800 ton steel structure.

Our reputation and experience led to

successfully being awarded a project by

Amdec Property Development, owners

of Melrose Arch, for the construction of

47 unique retirement units in Broadacres,

Fourways.

THE EDGERESIDENTIAL

Located in the town of Noordhoek, Cape

Town, the Evergreen Noordhoek project

shows both Tyris Construction’s expertise

and craftsmanship. Phase 1 handover

of the 3-bedroom homes with double

garages took place in March 2018.

The Edge residential development

in Sunninghill / Barbeque Downs was

completed in March 2018 and features

11 blocks with 130 apartments. This

development was the last project in

the area, with Tyris successfully handing

over a total of 492 units since 2015.

Completed in 2017, Brickfields

North in Johannesburg CBD is

an affordable housing project

consisting of 164 units. Every

delivery, from bricks to concrete

had to be meticulously planned

for, taking aspects such as traffic

in the CBD and the size of delivery

into account. The project was

delivered on time and within

budget, even when faced with

urban challenges.

Tyris Construction has successfully

completed a range of projects for

Exxaro. The showcased project

entailed the construction of a new

laboratory building facility andthe

expansion and alteration of a

diesel and machine workshop.

Tyris also successfully completed

the construction of Waterberg

Access and Logistics upgrade to

the value of R100million. The work

entailed new building and civil

works including 8500m2 concrete

paving and 500 steel carports.

PINOTAGE

Eskom appointed Tyris Construction

to expand their existing 400kV yard

and built a new 132kV yard for their

substation in the Western Cape.

The substation has the highest

mechanically built retaining wall

at 12 meters high. The Pinotage

substation required the construction

of a 58,000 m2 platform, 7,000

m3 of concrete works, 170 tons

of structural steel, 1,200 m2 high

barrier security fencing and 1,360m

copper earth mat.

88kV yard substation in Simmerpan,

Germiston. The project included bulk

earthworks for a 60,000 m2 platform,

civil works, structural steelwork, external
