Radio frequency identification (RFID) enables contactless data exchange between an RFID data carrier and an RFID read/write device.

For data transmission, the RFID writer/reader sets up an electromagnetic field which supplies the passive RFID data carrier with energy. This is necessary for data exchange. Information is sent from the reader to the chip or transferred back to the reader.

Response threshold of the transponder as to how much transmission power is required to address a transponder
