Do’s & Don’ts

Wear ID badges around your neck in BT Premises Telephone facility provided to you is for business purpose

only. Don’t make personnel calls from telephone facility provided to

you. Telephone calls to national rate numbers (0870, 0845 and

other premium numbers )are strictly prohibited. Use of Skype and BitTorrent or any freeware download is

strictly not allowed.


Do’s & Don’ts

You may only access the internet via the official BT

network unless special arrangements have been

agreed by BT security team.

BT provides internet access for business use. You

may make limited personnel use of the facility with

your BT line managers permission.

Do not visit Internet sites that contain obscene,

hateful or any objectionable material.

Do not make or post indecent remarks, proposals,

or materials on the Internet.


Do’s & Don’ts

Avoid storing or downloading Games, Songs,

Personal photographs or any other personal

information, etc. on your desktop/ laptop.

Do not download files from the internet or email

attachments until you are aware of the sender

Do not initiate / forward chain or spam mails.

Don’t connect USB hard drive, mobile phones etc

via USB/Infrared port to your laptop for data

transfer.

Please make sure that Ecensus and Radia client is installed on your BT laptop and it has latest Antivirus installed and updated.

Do not connect any equipment not supplied by BT to any BT LAN port

If you have TechM laptop, please do not connect your laptop to BT network without approval from BT security.

Photography in BT premises is strictly prohibited. Use your active cards/secure Ids safely. Do not share them

with anyone.

Access and use of BT computer systems and BT information

only

as is necessary to do your job properly.

Access BT computer systems and BT electronic information

only

if you have been authorized to do so. Unauthorized access may

result in your being prosecuted under the Computer Misuse Act

1990.


Do’s & Don’ts

BT requires you to keep all BT information (whether or not it is

marked “NOT TO BE SHOWN OUTSIDE BT”, "INTERNAL", “IN

CONFIDENCE”, or “IN STRICTEST CONFIDENCE”) confidential

and not to disclose it, unless you first have BT’s written

permission.

BT requires you if you have access to BT customer or personal

information, to comply with the provisions of the Data

Protection Act 1998.

If you discover or suspect a security incident or a security

failure, you should report it as soon as possible to the security

helpdesk on +44 1908 641100


Do’s & Don’ts

Adopt clear desk and clear screen policy.

Do not enter the restricted areas without proper authorization.

Do not put obstacles in the way of access doors.

Escorting visitors with due approval for entry within the BT

premises.

Do not leave PC unattended without locking the screen.

Do not Share Passwords with anyone, even not with Manager.

When choosing a password, ensure that is not easy to guess

and change it regularly, especially if you think it has become

known to somebody else.

Collect printouts immediately; Do not to take classified

documents

outside security enclosures.

For the disposal of any document use shredder. Do not leave

any

confidential papers on the desk unattended.

Lock your Laptop and cupboard when not around.

Do not share Folder/files. Sharing can be done to intended users

only for official purpose and must be removed when not

required. Under no circumstances, permission should be set for

“Everyone” for open accessibility ...
