PrefaceWhen we compiled the first edition of the eBook we thought we would get a total of 20-25downloads because there are not that many quizzers who would be interested in CompanyName Etymologies. Even if they were interested, they always had the Wikipedia l ist to gothrough. The response to the eBook by readers was a pleasant surprise with number of downloads reaching 600. We know that it is not a big deal but it made us happy. Somehow, theeffort seemed worthwhile.

It is at this point we would like to clarify that we have not compiled this list on our own. We

have just copied it from Wikipedia (Original Link ) and edited the hell out of it. What we mean bythat is we have removed the etymologies of companies that we believe are not very popular /well-known. Obviously, there can be an error in judgment and if you feel that we have madethat error please mail us with the name of the companies you would like to see in this list. Wepromise that we would update the list for the next version.

When we put out the first edition, the Wikipedia post had around 500 entries and our eBookhad around 200.

In this edition we have added around 27 new entries like Zippo, Yamaha, Warner Bros, Maruti,Parle, etc. which do not exist on the Wikipedia page.

Also, feel free to contact us for well whatever you think you should contact us for.

    Cheers,

    Ravi HandaAvinash Maurya
