The duct components consist mainly of metallic materials and are therefore considered as non-combustible. Due to the requirements for air tightness and sound insulation, polymer-based seals are required. Fire protection properties of the polymer-based sealing material: Glow wire test according to EN/IEC 60695-2-11 > approved Needle flame test according to EN/IEC 60695-11-55 > approved Properties of the complete channel system: Building material classification according to EN 13501-1: 2007+A1:2009 > Building material class A1 (The A1 classification applies to the complete system. This means that any logical combination of the components contained in the system can be implemented).

DIN EN 12237 includes the leak test for ventilation ducts. In each case, a positive and negative pressure is applied to the components to be tested. Naber checks the air tightness within the scope of quality assurance. Classification of the tightness classes: Class A: worst result
(highest leakage rate) Class D: best result
Test result: SF-VRO Flex

For safe installation on the construction site and for pouring into concrete, a minimum load-bearing capacity of 100 kg was assumed for the ducts. The load-bearing capacity was confirmed within the framework of a building material evaluation by a recognised inspection body.

6. Strength (foodprint load)
www.naber.com • www.compair-flow.com
Flat duct incl. support bridge were integrated into a floor structure usual for residential buildings. Subsequently, it was checked whether the required load-bearing capacity of the soil structure was achieved. The evaluations showed that the load-bearing capacity of the floor construction remains unchanged despite the installation of a COMPAIR STEEL flow® channel incl. support.

Within the scope of a soundproofing measurement, it was examined whether the laying of a flat duct in the floor structure has negative influences on the impact sound transmission.
The measurements for impact sound transmission in a floor structure common for residential buildings showed that the impact sound transmission is not influenced by the insertion of a ventilation pipe.

Salt spray test according to DIN EN ISO 9227 NSS (corrosion test): The test specimen is positioned over a defined period in a test chamber in which a saline mist is sprayed. If there is a weakness at the specimen (defective weld seam, irregularities in the coating, ...), the corrosion progresses especially rapid at this point.
Exemplary comparison of different materials after the test.
Ensuring corrosion resistance: Naber compared numerous compositions of zinc coatings to each other to ensure optimum corrosion resistance. The corrosion test according to DIN EN ISO 9227 NSS is part of the quality assurance.

9. Test for the formation of corrosion
After 144 hours: clear corrosion can be detected.
After 144 hours: no corrosion can be detected.
