Make a list of fruit. It’s ok if you don’t spell the word correctly. Just write the sounds that you hear. Draw a picture to match.

Cut and paste the sentence using the sheet below (see example).

Complete 10 (or 20) hops on each leg, 10 jumps and 10 claps.

Count how many forks you have in your cutlery drawer.

Write the numbers 1 – 10 (or 20) on a piece of paper, then draw the matching number of dots. Keep this for tomorrow’s activity.

Thursday READING

Read a book with a family member. Use the pictures to tell a story before reading (picture walk).

SPELLING

Using your alphabet cards from yesterday make three letter words (CVC): fit, hit, kit, pit, sit; big, dig, pig, rig, wig.

WRITING

Write the CVC words you made. Can you write them in a sentence (i.e. The big pig can see a wig.)?

NUMBER: 10 Warm Up – ‘Five little monkeys’

Cut up the numbers and dots you created yesterday. Mix then up then see if you can put them back in order from 1 -10.

Go outside and show ten in 3 different ways (e.g. 10 rocks, 10 leaves, 10 sticks). Take a photo and ask an adult to teach you how to email it to your teacher.

Thursday PE

Go outside and do some catching and throwing practice with your family.

Draw your pattern on a piece of paper. Can you show an adult what you’ve done? Can they create a pattern for you to continue?

Talk about commemorations. What events do your family commemorate – e.g. birthdays, weddings, Easter, Christmas or other? If you commemorate Anzac Day, listen to the Anzac Ted by B. Landsberry online (e.g. Nana Kate’s Corner) and do a directed drawing of Anzac Ted.

If you have limited access to children’s stories there is a great variety of read aloud stories available YouTube. For example: The Very Hungry Bear series, Pig

the Pug series, and traditional fairy tales.

You can practice sight words using Spelling City. Feel free to write these words on pieces of card at home to play games such as snap, memory or go fish.

If your child has access to a computer or tablet there are a variety of both free and paid online programs for teacher reading. These include.

Reading Eggs, Teach your monster to read, Sunshine Online, Decodable Readers Australia (App).

MATHS:

Every day, you should count as far as you can. Can you count further than yesterday?

Each day look at the days of the week – what is the day today? What was yesterday? What will tomorrow be?
