Axelle JanczurExecutive Director

Thank you for taking the time to pick up our Community Programs and Services Booklet. We’re looking forward to another great year filled with programs and

events—I hope you are too!

Feedback from program participants and community members, as well as partner

organizations, has let us know this is a great resource for you. The booklet provides a

quick-reference guide for our programs and services at all three locations. We provide

details on a variety of programs focused on the needs of children and families, youth,

women, seniors, newcomers, LGBTQ+ immigrants and refugees among others. We

work hard to make sure community members do not face any barriers accessing

our programs at our three locations. We are also committed to addressing the social

determinants of health in all that we do, to ensure that our communities can achieve

health with dignity.

Please take this booklet and share it with your friends, neighbours and anyone

you think could benefit from our services. The booklet is also available on at

www.accessalliance.ca.

If you have questions, comments, or suggestions on how we can improve this

booklet and/or anything else, please send us an email to [email protected].

We value your input, and pride ourselves on our responsiveness to community needs

and concerns. We hope to hear from you soon!

Newcomers Cooking Together (NCT) is a collaborative program where we come together to share and learn new and traditional recipes. In preparation for their role, volunteers undergo a three day training module run by Access Alliance Registered Dietitians (Nutrition Education Training) and Health Promoters (Cookbook Training). Topics covered during the cookbook training include: Introduction to Access Alliance, roles and responsibilities, basic photography, branding, cookbook styles.
