The CID has contracted with Leach Landscaping to complete enhancements at the West Park Place bridge, which is a gateway entrance to the corridor. At the same time, Russell Landscape Group will oversee maintenance for the CID’s Highway 78 segment for the remainder of 2012. As CID Executive Director Jim Brooks noted, the entire area benefits from having trash picked up, illegal signs removed and roadway landscaping maintained on a routine basis. “We are excited to have Russell Landscape Group working in the corridor, and we know that those traveling along Highway 78 will see a marked difference,” Brooks said. In 2011 alone, CID-contracted landscaping professionals collected two tons of litter and road debris while providing more than 1,100 hours of service. During his first full yearas chairman of the CID'sBoard of Directors, ChipAdair experienced such

developments as hiring executive leadership, electing four new Board members andchanging his own personal career track.

After an interim period with guidanceprovided by Wayne Hill, the CID opted toreturn Jim Brooks to the post he previouslyoccupied as Executive Director. September2011 marked Jim’s resumptions of his dailyleadership tasks.

At the same time, four new CID Boardmembers were added: Chris Garner, ViceChairman; Brad Williams, Post 2; RonHarrison, Post 4; and Stacy Patterson,Gwinnett County appointee. Chip and Ronshare a common bond -- their fathers wereearly CID supporters and previous Boardmembers. Chris, Brad and Stacy come fromfamilies with long-time ties to Park Place andarea businesses.

After nearly 20 years with Williams AdairRealty, Chip joined the Jackson Oats Shawcommercial real estate firm in 2011 as aleasing associate. His territory is close to theEvermore corridor, and Chip’s offices arelocated in the Oakbrook Parkway area.

As Chairman, Chip is committed to theCID’s successful advances in transportationimprovement and economic development. Hesupports the Board’s unifying strength ofleadership and positive cooperationbenefiting the community.

The grand opening of the new Cambridge Drive-McGee Roadcrossing was cause for celebration recently in the Evermore CID.

CID Board members and staff joined with representatives fromthe Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners, City of Snellville andGwinnett County Department of Transportation to cut a ribbonmarking the roadway’s completed improvements.

Realigning the meeting of Cambridge Drive and McGee Road atHighway 78 was a top priority for the CID’s leadership. The redesignhelps increase driver safety and enhance access to area businesses.

Construction has already started in the area for a new Wal-Martneighborhood market – a small-store concept offering grocery andpharmacy shopping along with limited general merchandise.
