Need vs Want

•A need is something you have to have to survive.

•A want is something that you think can make your life better.

RELIGION•Is a set of beliefs that try to answer important questions about humans

•Ex. Where do we go when we die?

Why do we have religion? •We have religion to:

▫ help us feel safe and happy

▫Be kind to others▫Be good people

Religion•There are more than 100 religions in the world!

Christianity

•Believes in only one God•The special book is called the Bible

•Jesus Christ (God’s son) came to earth and died for people’s sins.

•There are many different branches: Catholicism, Protestantism

Social Study Project• G4 Social Studies – Urban Planning Group Project• In your group design your ideal community. • 6/1 and 6/8 – Work all class• 6/15 –finishing touches, presentations and Hand In• 6/25 – Presentations• Your poster must show:- important places (food, health, education, homes)- transportation (how will people travel around?)- recreation (what will people do for fun?)- culture or religion Cooperate together to create a poster. It can be 3D, have pictures, words, pop-ups, etc.
