United Way NCA Community Commitment (continued)

To provide 100,000 residents with services that remove barriers to financial stability and affordable housing by June 2020.

–  In October 2015, we held our region’s first Project Homeless Connect •  Central Union Mission graciously hosted us •  Over 275 individuals served •  More than 20 service providers

–  As of June 30th we’ve provided over 15,000 residents with financial stability services

–  Supported the preparation of a total of over 14,000 tax returns across the region

United Way NCA Community Commitment •  To serve 12,000 Title I middle school

students and help them to transition to 9th grade performing on grade level –  As of June 30th 2016, we are proud to

announce that we have served nearly 2,000 middle school students

•  On May 9, The Washington Times wrote a piece on the mentoring gap in the region

United Way NCA Community Commitment •  Launched our first multi year Community Impact Grant process in late summer

2015 (2016-2017) •  61 grantees; half in education and financial stability and the other half in

health •  Interim reports are due July 22, 2016 •  Year 1 final reports are due December 31, 2016 •  Site visits to occur between fall 2016 & spring 2017
