COMMUNITYBASED MENTORINGPROGRAM

What if every young person unlocked their potential? imagine what

that could start!

Start something BIG with community based mentoring!Community based mentoring is the traditional Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring relationship connecting vulnerable young people aged 7 to 17 years (Littles) with volunteer mentors (Bigs).

Make a real difference in a young person’s lifeBigs and Littles meet a few times a month to spend some time doing activities together. Through spending time with their Bigs, Littles are less likely to drop out of school, end up in jail, or turn to drugs and alcohol. They also have more self-confidence, resilience, and independence.

Long-term support for both Bigs and LittlesEvery match is fully supported by Big Brothers Big Sisters through training and support from a Mentoring Coordinator.

The minimum commitment for a mentoring match is 12 months, and the average match lasts 18 months.
