The mission of Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is to Grow healthy families
through the education and support of all families in providing the best possible
environment for the healthy growth and development of their children.
ECFE recognizes that families provide children their first and most important learning
environment and that parents are the children’s first and most significant teachers.
Classes hosted by ECFE will meet in
fall, winter and spring. You are

Join us for a special story hour community event. Bring Grandma and Grandpa to this fun event with stories and activities.
LAKE CRYSTAL AREA COMMUNITY BAND
For 30 years, the Lake Crystal Community Band has provided free local concerts to community members. The band also plays at the Lake Crystal Memorial Day Service.
Practices begin in April and continue through May. The Memorial Day Service is their first concert for the season. Throughout the month of June and July, the band provides free concerts at local community venues.

This activity is made possible by a grant pro-vided by the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council from funds appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature.

EARLY CHILDHOOD
SCREENING Screening is a quick and simple check of how your
child is doing at age 3 - 4 years. During the
screening, well-qualified staff will check your
child’s vision, hearing, growth, immunization
status, skills in thinking, communication and
language, large and small motor skills and
social/emotional development.
The screening is FREE OF CHARGE.
Children are required to have had an early
childhood screening done prior to entering
kindergarten.

will receive a letter inviting them to screen,
however, if your child is over 4 1/2 please call us

Parents and their toddlers play together in a room
full of toddler learning activities. You will participate
together in a teacher led circle time, full of music
and movement appropriate for your busy toddler.
Parents will have the opportunity to discuss
parenting joys and challenges of raising a toddler,
in addition to issues of interest to the group. A par-
ent educator will facilitate discussion time, while
your child will enjoy play directed by the early
childhood teacher and assistant.

Evening Class
Parents and children are learning, exploring, and having lots of fun together in this class. Class is taught by an Early Childhood Professional. Parents and children will always separate for this class. Ages can be somewhat flexible.

early out dates with the exception of major holidays. If school closes on an unscheduled date due to weather or other emergency, Fit Kids will close also.

Join the soccer club to build on the fundamentals of the game and to be able to play a little more competitively as a team. Our purpose is to promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, achievement, excellence, self-confidence and fun for players and their families through the game of soccer.

Ready to babysit? The purpose of the American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training course is to provide youth ages 11-15 with the information and skills necessary to provide safe and responsible care for children in the absence of parents or adult guardians. This training will help participants develop skills in leadership, professionalism, basic care, safety and safe play and first aid. Class fee includes a textbook. Our 8U program is played here in Lake Crystal, on Sunday evenings, starting in June and will run for 6 weeks with an end of the season tournament in July.
Our 10U and older program is run through Southern Star Softball and will start at the end of May, and runs through mid July. Exact dates are set by Southern Star and will not be known until the schedules come out in the first part of May. Games are played here in Lake Crystal, as well as in other surrounding cities in the Southern Star Program.

TEEN HIGH SCHOOL DRIVER’S ED
This course is designed to prepare the first-time driving student with the information and knowledge required to pass the Minnesota Driver’s permit test and the Minnesota Class D Driver’s License test. This class requires the student to complete 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind the wheel instruction. These hours are mandated by law if a student under the age of 18 is to acquire a Driver Permit or License.

Wet & Wild - A moderate to high inten-
sity class that focuses on 30-45 minutes of cardio, up to 15 minutes of strength/toning and up to 15 minutes of abdominal exercises.
Aqua Fit - A lower intensity class con-
